Extreme cravings during cold weather Page 2 of 3

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
No change yet with my eyes. When I took the remedy it didn't feel quite right.

My cravings have come back with a vengeance. Mostly for sweets, but I feel hungry all the time, even after meals. I also have a very slow metabolism. I eat 1500-1700 calories/ day and exercise vigorously (1-1 &1/2 hours of Bikram Yoga, running, biking, etc) five days a week. Most calorie calculators say that I should be eating 2000-2600 calories per day. Very frustrating!

Wait for a few more days and let the effect of Lycopodium pass over.

Update me in 5 days.

The cravings are out of control again. I hate feeling this way. Please help.

Dissolve 2 pellets of Pulsatilla 200c in 100 ml filtered water, and take just 1 spoon from there ONCE.

Let me know in 3 days after this.

I did this with no help, then I got a cold which I treated with ferrum phos. I accidently had peppermint, so I retook my 200 puls and it seems to be working again. Ny other recommendations? My eyes seem better, although slightly swollen. I still struggle with chronic constipation and a sluggish metabolism. I am willing to take it slow and do it right, I don't want to go back to the cravings.
Thank you!

Keep waiting dartsky, do not bother about the puffy eyes, the cravings getting under control is more important.

Do not take any other homeopathic medicine for the eyes.

Update me in 1 week from now.

The cravings are not horrible, but not as good at the first time I took the puls. eyes still the same and body still the same. I am having trouble getting to sleep at night.

What's your weight and height?

raphaeloliveira last decade
I mean, your current weight. I think this would be relevant to whoever is helping you.

Do you have a aggravation froma daytime nap or a General aggravation from sleep (irritable, unrefreshed, etc.) ?

Ever had STYES OR TUMORS on the eye lids ? (I guess this you just mentioned in ur previous mail)

Do you suffer from insomnia ?

Do you ever have trembling FROM ANGER OR EMOTIONS ?

Do you tend to suppress emotions particularly anger or resentment ?

Do you think you have a history of being 'dominated' by anyone?

Are you extremely sensitive to insults, reprimands, criticism and rudeness in general ?

Do you think, you avoid confrontation because you are afraid of the insult or emotional pain that can come out of it ?

Do you have strong fears of rejection, humiliation and embarrassment or fear of your honour being wounded?

Can we say that you are mild and easy going in relationships as long nobody acts rudely with you for some reason ?

sameervermani last decade
I am 5'5'' 150 lbs.

I don't have time to nap. I feel unrested but energetic, as though I was sleep deprived but taking a stimulant, like caffeine to keep me up, which I am not. I suffer from periodic insomnia, the longest being one year. In the past I have taken coca 30, but that is not helping now.

I do not get styes or tumors, just the puffiness.

I do not tremble when angry, I tend to push anger and guilt back on myself. When I was a teenager I self-mutilated, now I just torture myself mentally.

I do tend to suppress emotions and avoid confrontations, the exception being my husband. I feel comfortable confronting him in our relationship.

I do have strong fears of rejection, humiliation, etc. I will replay situations in my head again and again if I think that I may have acted unfavorably.

Very sensitive to insults and reprimands, etc.
I will take things personally, even when others would think nothing of it.

I'm not sure what you mean about being dominated. When I was a child my father was authoritarian, but no longer is. Most people who really know me would say that I am more dominant.

I agree about being mild in relationships, and sometimes even when others act rudely I will choose to let it pass instead of confronting them.

Thank you so much!

Dear Dartski,

How are you with spending money ?

Are you careful ? or do you tend to spend liberally ?

Also, tell me if you are often thirsty for small sips of water ?

I'm sorry for posting this in the middle of this case taking, but because this is all about the patient and not about a competition of who indicates the right remedy, I thought I should post my opinion here.

First I think it's not a good idea at all to try to solve your symptoms individually with different remedies, that's why you haven't achieved much yet because every time you try something different you go back to zero again. Pulsatilla was working for you and you should have waited. Keep in mind that the cure takes places from inside to outward, you first feel good and in control, then the physical symptoms after.

Despite Pulsatilla being the closest remedy to you among the others you've tried and even though you haven't given too much time for it to work I believe it's still not the right remedy (simillimum) otherwise you would've seen some difference on your constipation.

I evaluated everything you wrote in this topic to come up with an indication: Calcarea Carbonica

I think you have very strong signs that points to this remedy and believe that this would be your simillimum for now and your constitutional remedy as well. In case if you wonder a 200C potency single dose would be a good one to start.

You could ask Sameer's opinion and also use your judgment if you should give it a try knowing that you would have to sacrifice your current treatment for at least a week only to see if the remedy works or not.

Hi Raphael,

I think you are referring to some other case of mine.

The patient's problem is not constipation.

Best,

She mentioned that she struggles with constipation since childhood. Go through her messages again and you'll see 1 post about it on the first page and another on the second.

raphaeloliveira last decade
True I have struggled with constipation, but in everyones defense I have been to an acupuncturist and have done homeopathy for three years and no one has ever figured it out.

I usually chug water, and I am neither particularly good nor bad with money. I do like to spend it, but I reign myself in.

dartski last decade
No one has ever figured out the cravings either, so cheers to you!

dartski last decade
My choice is to be between Arsenic or Staphysagria, particularly as there has been a tendency towards self torture and self mutilation which is pointing very strongly to these remedies.

However, if you can answer the questions I asked above, I can tell you my recommendation.

sameervermani last decade
Have you ever tried Calcarea Carbonica?

When I made this indication I was focusing exactly in your craving symptom. But you know that in order to figure this out you would need to try and that means time.

raphaeloliveira last decade
Water-I tend to drink in large gulps fewer times a day.

Money: I do like spending it, but am fairly good at reigning myself in.

I have tried calc carb and it did not seem right. I have time and I will wait longer if that is what you think will help :)

dartski last decade
Okay so my prescription is Staphysagria 30c, 3 doses to be taken at 30 mins gap and then report status in 10 days after the doses.

But, if you have taken 200c Calcarea now, it would be good to wait at least 7-8 days to see if you get benefit. Do not take Staph in case you get benefit from calc.

Sameer.

sameervermani last decade
Here is mine indication: a dose of Calcarea Carbonica 200C for 2 consecutive days. A dose is 5 pellets dissolved in little water enough for a small sip. Do not repeat any more doses after the 2nd day.

I make the words above mine, whether you're going to try Calcarea or Staph or any other remedy you'll need to wait and give it some time to see if it works or not. I hope the weather is cold where you live right now so you can see things sooner.

raphaeloliveira last decade
I have investigated both remedies and neither one seems to fit me. I am concerned about taking them and throwing myself off again.

Here is why I think they are not right:

Staphysagria- I do express my anger, although it does take a while to provoke me to the point of out lash. I don't feel resentful, and have worked through many issues in years of therapy.

Calcarea Carbonica-I have a quick, active mind, and feel energized and alive when I exercise. I am also muscular under my fat.

I'm not sure what to do now.

dartski last decade
'I do tend to suppress emotions and avoid confrontations.I do have strong fears of rejection, humiliation, etc.
Very sensitive to insults and reprimands, etc.
I will take things personally, even when others would think nothing '

^^^ These are enough indications to be giving Staphysagria a try.

However, please tell me if you are profoundly affected with music or have a great love for dancing ?

Do you have some creative hobby ?

sameervermani last decade
I am very affected by music, and I can chart my adolescence by the different bands I listened to. I do like to dance, although I do not do so regularly. When I was younger it was a bigger part of my life.

I knit and make jewelry.
