Hi, Just wanted to update you. Aiden ended up getting stuffy last night. This morning was sneezing a little, clear mucous coming out of his nose. I gave him a dose of lobelia and the dose of hepar sulph. Also on my way to dropping him off to school I purchased pulsatilla and gave him one dose. Just thought it might help to get his nose cleared. They don't want kids coming in with consistent runny nose but he seemed very well this morning other than stuffy.
Thanks!

what potency of pulsatilla did you give him.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
I gave him pulsatilla 30c. I didn't think about this not being part of treatment plan...sorry. I was just wanting to get him to school and able to stay.
Update for today is that he stayed in school for his half day. Seemed to be feeling fine. However, yesterday he went to sleep at 5:30pm and slept until almost 7am. He probably woke around 5 or 6 this morning, had his banana and some water and back to bed. He was feeling good and was hungry, since he skipped dinner, and got ready for school with no problems.

About 2 hours ago he had a ligher than usual poop, with some undigested food which I haven't seen in some time. And now after bath I detected a slight bit of wheezing. I am going to give him a dose of the other remedy you suggested.

Thanks and sorry if I was too quick with the other remedy. What is next step? I still don't have Tuber????1M remedy, will probaby take a week to get it.

Okay, well this has been a full week of wheezing, minus one day (thursday). Thursday was the day he fell asleep at 5pm and didn't wake up until next morning around 7 (which he never does). I gave the school my bottle of ars alb so yesterday had to buy another bottle. The store only had Hylands (which are the soft white tablets versus hard pellets). The instructions say 2 for children and the other brand I was giving him 5 pellets each time. last night the 2 didn't seem to be helping much with the wheezing. This morning he is wheezing slightly and coughing some. Should I give more than 2 tablets? Should it be on 3 times a day? Also the lobelia that I have from the ND has other ingredients: Ipeca 4x, Moschus 8X, Sambucus nigra 1x, Polgala senega 1x, Blatta oriental 6x, Arsenicum iodal 8x, Exodictyon calif 3x, Artinonium sulfural aur 8x, lobelia infl 8x, Natrum sulfuric 10x (This is written so tiny on the bottle I may have mispelled some).

So some ingredients are the same that you recommended but wondering if I should be giving him all this. The ND recommended once everyday.

Okay, just waiting instructions and hoping we can get through this wheezing...it of course concerns me and this has been more wheezing than all summer. Is it a healing crisis? Is it expected during all this?

Thanks for all the help!

congested last decade
I did not know that the lobelia had so many medicines in that. It is scary, anyways we will have to wait till you get tubercullinum. pulsatilla was a good choice i recommend you to suppliment him with pulsatilla 30 every second day preferabilly two doses till you get tubercullinum.
is he only suffering during summer and alright during winter as far as wheezing is conerned?

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
His wheezing used to be periods throughout the year. But this past summer there was only a few cases he had it. Now what it going on, a week or more of wheezing is not the norm. He usually has a spell, it lasts a day or two at the most. He even has a little rattling in his chest this morning. So this is new for this to be a continuous thing. So that is why I am questioning all the things going into his body, also is this expected or could be a part of a healing crisis or him reacting to something. I can stop the lobelia for now. I thought if it was something that would really halt the wheezing, like when it happened in school, then it would be worth a try but so far nothing is doing that.

Since the ND is also into homeopathy and I mentioned the next plan was Tubercullinum and she thought this was way too strong for him. I don't say this in any way to question your ability. Just wanted to put that out there. I don't know anything about tubercullinum but I just want to say my son seems very sensitive to things put in his body...even little doses. What would be the expected reaction to tuberculinum? Is there any children or situations you would change your mind about giving this? I hope you are not offended. I just feel I need to share this info. And if there is more info you need from me about my son or our situation I will provide it freely.

My biggest concern is that is normally doesn't wheeze all week and this past 8 - 9 days it has almost been continous.

Okay, I will do the pulsatilla in addition to the ars alb.

Thanks again for all the help! I do believe we will get through this even stronger. I get overwhelmed and have a hard time sticking to things so the input from the ND kind of got me confused and questioning things. I think I want to continue with just the homeopathy and your guidance and leave the other alone for now. This is my weakness, information overload and then hard to sort through it and do what I think is best.
Thanks for your patience!

I appreciate your anxiety and confusion, if your ND thinks that Tuberculinum one dose will be too strong then so are the other medicines given like silicea, ars alb, infact ars alb is a very deeper acting remedy which has the capacity to act for 90 days given only one dose.

Tuberculinum like medicines are called as intercurrent, they simply enhance the system to act better to the remedy given, so they will simply strengthen the person and will do no harm. I am positive about his sensitivity, and his presentation is masked so is the difficulty in getting his remedy crystal clear. so i anticipate that tuberculinum will solve this

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
The situations i would reconsider giving this drug is in case of active Tuberculosis and extremely week and non reactive children. I think both these conditions are ruled out in your sons case.
Your main concern is over the continous wheeze, but do not worry about the wheeze as long as he is doing his regular activities and sleeps well.

you can even stop ars alb now and just give pulsatilla now.

It would be great if you could examine his nostrils and let me know (as the way i told you).
qualify his sweat and desires and aversions (interms of food)
how is his skin is it showing any difference?

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
I did examine his nostrils the way you mentioned and I don't really see anything. I did notice that he doesn't seem to have much space in the nostril....the skin on side seems to hang down low so you only have a small opening.

The food aversions are hard to say because he really hasn't been exposed to tons of foods. We saw early on so many reactions to foods so he doesn't eat dairy products, wheat, soy. He doesn't care for garlic, chicken, beef (thats about the only things I can really think of at the moment). The only meat he eats is turkey and he loves his turkey and avocado.

Sweat - He seems to run hot, sleeps with shirt off many times, entire body gets real warm, sweats mainly on chest, neck and head, doesn't ever smell bad, never seen sweat marks on armpits.

The overall condition of his skin has looked great for years just gets the things that pop up now and then. Gets itchy red bumps on elbow crease, back of knee, blisters on thumb, red marks on face but those haven't happened in a long time. The only things I have noticed was when we did the silicea he had the welts, red bumps, etc. pop out around Right eye, then next time had them pop out around Left eye. Last night saw a little red place under Right eye after bath. Other than that skin has looked really good. The week after our trip to NC he did get a mosquito bite on arm that really swelled up big and I put tea tree oil on and massaged and it was better next day.

I hope this information helps. I will say when he was a child and had bad eczema and he was scratching alot I would many, many times say to him (as a baby) stop scratching, stop scratching and hold his hands. It was very frustrating to me as a Mom, experiencing my own food allergies, lack on sleep, etc. to be breastfeeding and see my son have reactions such as itching, bumps, etc. during or right after breastfeeding. It became mentally more than I could handle and stopped breastfeeding at 8 months. But the reason I share this is to say emotionally I was not present to support him, I am sure he felt my negative energy about feeding him, the frustration of his scratching...I felt hopeless to help and supply my child with the basics - food/nutrition. So I always wonder how all this affected my son and know that it did but I also realized that this is the past and I must forgive myself for it and move on. But I guess with all his difficulties there is part of me that blames me for his issues or at least blame myself for a big part of it. But I know it was who I was at the time and couldn't have done it any differently since I didn't know anything different to do.

Thanks for listening!

Hi, I picked my son up from school today and he was coughing and wheezing again. He did have slight wheezing this morning but was worse when I picked him up. We spent 2 hours or so at park and he did fine. But you can tell this is making him more tired. So he is doing overall fine but just doesn't have his usual energy when he is not wheezing. We came home, he sneezed a few times and then had 2 bowel movements, a little light in color and he didn't have a bowel movement yesterday or this morning which isn't his norm.

I mainly wrote to ask what is the dosage of the pulsatilla 30c. I have the pellets and they suggest 5. Just wondering what you suggest for the pellets.
Thanks!

Hey got your post and do not worry about the increase now and then. I also had a look at your previous post about his i should tell you that it is not your fault fully, looking at the problems you had during his pregnancy and during breast feeding is what you think is the cause of the problems, but it is not necessary that you are the purely the cause, as he is your son he is will surely get traits form you which is what is presenting like this, but medically if he get such problems in the early stage of life he will gain resistance and will be able to fight against disease in the future, and homeopathy is just increasing his ability to fight against these problems. so we are going on the right path and do not worry.

About pulsatilla 30 give 4-6 pellets and give him twice daily.

Thanks.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
It has been so time since our last contact. We hit some really tough financial times and online order for the remedies could not be filled since my credit card has not been paid. So I have just been using the pulsatilla 30c every other day, twice a day, as per your last instruction. My son had a few short wheezing spells over the last few weeks. However, last week he had a major incident after having a cranial sacral therapy session (and possibly a food reaction to wheat and carrots in a rice cracker). The night after the cranial work his Right cheeck got very swollen, about 2 time larger than normal, and I gave him some homeopathy remedy I had on hand for swelling and allergic reaction. Next day he was wheezing, the next day lost his voice and now for an entire week has had a cough in the chest and nothing coming up. I increased the dosage of pulsatilla to 3 times a day for a few days in a row. He now has the thick yellowish mucous coming out of his nose. And a few minutes ago had a green poop. It has been a long week but it seems the worst is over for now. I am not sure when I will be able to get the next remedies but hopefully soon. Any recommendations of getting this mucous to move out a little quicker? Thanks!

Sorry about your crises, wish you come out of it sooner. Don know if you have this remedy, it is hepar sulph 30 daily one dose in the morning, this should get the mucus out and also continue pulsatilla, i understand it has worked fine before the last week. so continue that till you get the other remedies.
Take care.
Thanks.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
After so many continuous unchanged doses of Pulsatilla, there is no doubt that he is having proving symptoms of Pulsatilla.

It is not wise to continue it further. Please look for a single medicines that covers the totality as on now.

Please don't give any homeopathic medicine more than six doses in a row. If it is the correct medicine it will relieve atleast partially.

If there is partial relief you have to wait for a few days to see whether the progress continues.

There are so many options for a physician at this stage and it is not possible to write them all here.

Don't self medicate without knowing the consequences. Be in regular touch with your prescriber.

Hi, I am not sure what you mean by this statement: *****It is not wise to continue it further. Please look for a single medicines that covers the totality as on now. ********************
Please explain further. So for now I should give him no more Pulsatilla and do the hepar sulph 30 daily, one dose in morning. How many days should I do the Hepar Sulph.

I will remain in contact from here on out. I just feel a little helpless when things arise such as the very swollen cheek, him unable to sleep and then wheezing for a day or two. The mother in me wants to do something to provide at least some relief. But I do see improvement and I am trying to trust the process. In future will not medicate unless I hear from you first. So just to be clear, no more pulsatilla, do hepar sulph to help clear mucous....how long do I do that? And in the meantime I will try to get the tuber??? (next remedy).
Thanks for your continous support!

You said the worst is over. You have drugged him enough. Don't give any more medicine for a week.

Come back after a week and report the then condition.

In our anxiety we give too many medicines too quickly and spoil the case altogether.

Hi, I totally agree that in my anxiety I may have given him to much. But I am new to all this and still learning and going on what this website offers me but in the meantime it is just me and my son, sometimes struggling to breathe and yes I get anxious. Maybe I don't understand homeopathy very well, since I didn't see it as drugging my son but supporting his body in achieving balance. I do understand that sometimes we have to be patient and that is one of my weaknesses so I am healing while he is healing. I appreciate your feedback but think it can be put in nicer terms. I know that isn't required of you but it would be appreciated. The last post I received from someone else on this website said to do the hepar sulph and now you are saying no. So things aren't always clear. Thanks for your reply.
Will report back in a week.

My son is wheezing, has been most of the day. It is getting worse and he is feeling very uncomfortable and it is bedtime. What do you suggest I do for him?
Thanks for any suggestions.

congested last decade
I am not a doctor, but a father of child with asthma. Please give him 'blue inhaler' if he continues to be uncomfortable and repeat as advised by your doctor (4-6 hrs normally). Sometimes we have to rely on allopathic medicines to take care of the acute episodes. I am not sure if that is the best thing to do, but that is what we do when we find our son struggling with asthma.

Dear Congested,
As far as i know, if a medicine is acting good we don actually have to change it. so my suggestion was to continue pulsatilla 30 and just give few doses of hepar sulph for yellow discharge and to get it out.
but somebody has a different opinion, don know what i have to do? as far as i know your was responding well to pulsatilla and so we decided to push it to the next level. my decision will be to continue a few more doses of pulsatilla for few more doses to get rid of the acute state and then lets see what to do.
The choice is yours..

Hi Dr. Bagyavasan, Thanks for your reply. I was very confused with someone else writing to me. I thought you have different people taking turns and didn't know if you were away or what. I was a little upset by that person's tone to me. I am open to doing what you think is best and can't have too many people making suggestions so I will stick to your replies only. Yes, I think maybe last week was a healing crisis, it was a long week but he got through it. So he still has some yellow mucous and I will give him the hepar sulph to see if we can get him cleared of all this mucous. Today he is happy, energetic and feeling good. So I know we have done the pulsatilla for over the prescribed 15 days. So how long do you recommend me to do the pulsatilla? Once again I am not looking for different opinions and picking one...I trust you....we have been doing well thusfar but I really didn't know how the site was set up to work. Wasn't sure if you were not around. Awaiting instructions regarding the pulsatilla. Thanks Much!

congested last decade
Well i should ask you to give just one dose of hepar sulph and then let me know the next day.

I was not away form the site, but since the other person came in, i did not want to disturb the thought process, but since we had no reply for the last post of wheezing, i decided to get back in track again. I was waiting for the other person to suggest you the next step as well, but anyways lets not talk about what is gone.
so just give one dose of Hepar Sulph and then let me know the next day. we will review the case again and then decide the further line of management.

Dr. Bagyavasan.k last decade
Hi, I gave him the dose of hepar sulph first thing this morning. Nothing out of the ordinary happened today. He is mostly clear except for a cough here and there. He is having smelly gas today and did not have a bowel movement as of yet. He is happy, running around, etc.
Thanks

My son did end up having a bowel movement before the end of the day yesterday. He still has a cough in the morning, sounds kind of deep in chest. He was scratching first thing this morning, behind his knees. He had some grapes yesterday at church and I notice he usually gets a little itchy if he eats grapes or at least that is what is seems like. I don't know if I included this in the first long write up but my son has some right hip rotation going on, when he gets down and walks like a duck the right foot rotates in or outward different from left, can't quite remember how it turns but noticied it also when he used to ride a tricycle. He feel off a tall bed around 8 months of age and even though he seemed fine don't know how it impacted him. The reason I mention this is because when I massage him sometimes I notice his low back is locked in one vertebra, slightly off centered, and he has a difficult time sitting up straight, chest kind of sinks in, rounded shoulders, etc. I have see the posture improving some. He has a difficult time if he is laying down and tries to sit up....he said it hurts his back and many times he sleeps with his knees up. Just thought I would share these things.
Thanks!

Hi Dr.

So I gave the one dose of Hepar sulph the other day and nothing since. No major issues that day. However, today his Left ear is all red, and his Left lymph node (throat) is swollen. He just complained about sore throat even though when I noticed the ear and throat and touched the throat he said it didn't hurt. I have seen the Left ear do this 2 times before. This past summer was the first time, it was red and very swollen, I did some home remedies, garlic on feet, onion compress on ear, etc. and it went away in a couple of days. Then it flared up again a few months later, just the redness not the swelling. I do notice more wax in this ear.

So I am wondering what I can do at this time. Should I do more hepar or pulsatilla or nothing. With all the kids sick at his school, and his overall somewhat weak/overtaxed immune system I worry about his health. Please advise! Thanks!

The other person did suggest what needs to be done.

'Don't give any more medicine for a week.
Come back after a week and report the then condition.'
