Wheezing & Tummy Aches in 5 Year Old Page 4 of 7

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hi Dr., Had to go pick up my son from school today. They called and said he was wheezing and looking pale. He seemed fine when he left this morning but they said this happened after he was writing and erasing with chalk. He is crying alot, red in the face, coughed up some mucous and when I said point to what hurts he pointed to his tummy. I just gave him 4 pellets of bryonia alba....wasn't sure what is best at this time but he is very, very uncomfortable. please advise of any next steps and/or I will keep you posted on what happens throughout the day.
Thanks!

Hi Dr., Just wanted to give you an update. My son had a bowel movement, first one today. It was very pale, looked dry and crumbly in appearance but was in one long piece. He is still wheezing but we are playing Go Fish and is not complaining about tummy or the wheezing. We are suppose to go to his school tonight for a parenting class and they offer babysitting. Would like to give something to calm the wheezing since many will frown upon him wheezing....what do you recommend?
Thanks!

give one dose of pulsatilla 30 and he should be fine.

Hi Dr., I left my son home with his Dad while I attended the Parenting Class. He was coughing and still wheezing when I left and it was his bedtime anyway so I know he was tired. He fell asleep but is still wheezing some. His wheezing was so bad earlier I gave him one does, 4 pellets of lobelia (not the one from naturopath with numerous ingredients just lobelia)...I went back to older posts to see what you recommended in the past for acute stage wheezing. I hope this doesn't interfere with the current plan.

I just went to store and they had the 6c but not the 30c Pulsatilla so I got the 6C. Should I do just one dose of that or more than one?
Thanks!

Hi Dr., My son just had one bite of a prepared pumpkin pie at a store and his throat starting itching and about 20 minutes later he started crying and said throat really itches, says he feels like he needs to throw up, is crying alot and wheezing. I had pulsatilla 200c on hand I had bought for me and thought that is what you prescribed this last post but now I see it was pulsatilla 30C. So I just gave him 2 pellets of 200c instead of 30c. Not sure what to do at this stage.

I have been trying so hard to let go with all the food fears and just last night he had some fries and hushpuppies from a fish place and seemed to do fine. I think the biggest issue is dairy but I really don't know but it seems like lately when he tries something he gets thristy and you can tell it is bothering his throat a bit and then he says he doesn't want it or doesn't like it.
Please advise as soon as possible! Thanks!

Just wanted to also let you know when I just went in to check on him he was scratching his back, red on Right mid back and red splotches on low back, near sacrum area. A couple of little bumps he is scratching on his Left cheeck, right in front of ear.
I can tell he is settling down some, thank goodness.
Please advise when you can!

The crisis is over, he is doing fine now. His ears and cheeks got super read, a few hives under Right eye and alot of redness and itchness behind knees, inside of thighs and back and sacrum area. He had a bowel movement and then seem to feel much better. Now running around building stuff, playing, etc. Not sure how to proceed with new foods, feel a little fearful of this kind of episode. I will try to just see what he wants to try. Yesterday he took one bite of mashed potatoes that had milk and butter in them, no crazy reaction like this but he only took one bite, drank some water right after and said he didn't like them.
My biggest concern is being away from home, like on Thanksgiving, allowing him to try new foods and have this happen. What things can we do to help offset these issues he seems to have with certain foods, how to handle when something like throat itches, wheezing, etc.?

Thanks!

I can clearly understand your concern, but for now he is having reaction only for a day or so, which is a good sign again. As you suggest it might be with dairy products he should get over it soon. since we don have Tuberculinum I am all the more happy to settle without it. All you need is just try to get calc carb 1M and then give him one dose after a weeks time. That should keep me ok with all these foods, final sugesstion, if he feels that he is not happy with any foods then leave it. As you said with the mashed potatoes and milk, just try giving him a bite and if he is ok with it then continue if not stop it immediately and then give him lots of water to drink he will be fine.
He is fine do not worry.

Hi Dr.,
I will try to get the Calc Carb 1M. If my son tries something and has a major reaction as yesterday what should I give him? Or do I give him nothing? Which I have to say in this case I can't imagine not doing something. Did the pulsatilla help the episode clear more quickly or should I have not given him that? I will try to let him try what he wants and respect the fact he wants it or not but in this situation he wanted to try it and then this happened. So there is a feast at his school on Wed. and more food that he may want to try and then again on Thurs. I would feel better equipped to know what to do if this happens. Yes, I am very pleased he is able to deal with these things in a much quicker time, yesterday it was only a matter of a few hours. And I tell myself to accept things are so, so much better and not hang onto the fear and move on as he seems to do so well with. But the anxiety, emotional distress just leaves me wiped out. I have been very emotional and frazzled today and I think it is just me holding on to all stuff from yesterday.
I don't want to mess with the progress we have had thusfar by throwing remedies at him but I just don't know what to do if the wheezing gets real bad and if he has at throat swelling/itching/hive incident.
Please advise! Thanks again!

Hi Dr.,

I have pulsatilla 30c on hand and just wondering if this is the remedy that I should use if things come up with my son, like intense wheezing, tummy issues, etc.? We have a feast at school today and while he is eating mostly the food I am preparing he may want to try other things and I am trying to allow him that freedom. Also with the feast tomorrow with family it will be similar situation.

Is there any other remedies I should keep on hand for issues like this? Not sure when I can get the Calc Carb 1M, plan on calling that place near me to see if they can order it today so if they can will probably have next week.

Thanks!

Hi Dr.

My son is having an intense wheezing spell. I was looking at old posts and at one time you said you said give ars alb 30c. So I am wondering if I should give that or pulsatilla, and I have that in 200c, 30c & 6c. He is unable to sleep. He has had 3 poops today and last 2 looks light in color and undigested.

Please advise as soon as you can!
Thanks!

hey sorry i was out of town, well give him one dose of ars alb 200 and he will go to sleep, if does not subside in about an hour, then take half glass of water and then mix pulsatilla 30 a few drops and then give him one spoon of that water every half hour for 2 hours.
Keep me informed after that.
Thanks.

I don't have the ars alb in 200c but have it in 30c. I gave him a dose of ars alb 30c a few hours ago. should I give him a another dose or do the pulsatilla, that I have in all doses? But pulsatilla I only have in pellets no liquid
Thanks!

Hi Dr.,
After 3 hours of sleep where he was moaning, tossing and turning, etc. he woke up and watched some TV with us and seemed alot better...still some wheezing. This morning he has a cold sore on his lip and slight wheezing but feeling great and being a happy, energetic boy.

If this happens again today is ars alb 30c the best course of action, along with pulsatilla if wheezing? I hate to expect these things to happen but hard not to when this has been our life for the last 5 years. He did wake up Tues. with a little coughing, went to bed Tues. night with some wheezing so it seems like this was carried over from what happened on Sat. But I guess it really doesn't matter about all that, it done and over with for now.
Thanks!

Ya thats good, it is over, well it shows a patter that he first gets a cough and then the next day he is into wheezing, so what i would suggest is that if he has any signs of cough then just give him a dose of pulsatilla, and it should keep him fine, and if at all he goes into wheezing then ars alb.

But sure the frequency of these events will reduce soon once we give him calc carb 1M.

Hi Dr.,

We almost made it through the day without incident but my son wanted to try a bite of vanilla ice cream (which he has never had) but it was his niece's birthday and he asked so I said if you want to go ahead. Right after the bite he started rubbing his eyes, got a little red around eyes with a few bumps, and then within a few minutes he was wheezing, crying and complaining of his belly hurting. I gave him a dose of pulsatilla 30c and then later a dose of ars alb 30c and after about 10 - 15 minutes in the car laying on me propped up he started breathing clearer and was able to sleep.

Hopefuly I get the calc carb next week.
Thanks! Have a good evening!

Hi Dr.,

My son was able to sleep through the night. He woke up coughing alot, wheezing and has had 2 bowel movements. I gave him a dose of pulsatilla and ars alb this morning. If his symptoms continue throughout the day should I give him 2 more doses of each?

Thanks!

if it continues then just give ars alb alone two more doses and he should be fine.

Hi Dr.,

My son had a very rough day today. After his second dose of ars alb he coughed alot, finally spit up a handfull of mucous and then a little more a little later, throw up sweet potato that he had eaten earlier and was wheezing the whole time, main complaint is that belly hurts. After that we had maybe 2 hours or so where he was still wheezing but watching some TV, let me read him some stories and dozed off or about 10 min. and then I saw his body jump and he was awake and unable to rest after that. Then I gave him his other dose and he started coughing, crying, etc. and then we watched some home videos and he started feeling better. He was hungry and had a piece of turkey and some avocado and was ready for bed. He is finally asleep and still wheezing. If still wheezing, coughing and complaining of belly ache in am should I continue with the ars alb?
Thanks!

Hi Dr., My son went to sleep but woke up a couple of hours later. He is wheezing, coughing, says belly hurts, both ears red, he says they hurt, cheeks flushed, body warm/hot, throat sounds scratchy when coughs and says it is sore. He is drinking a glass of maple syrup lemon tea and trys to lay head on my shoulder with his body propped up, unable to lay flat.
Anything we can do to help him rest?
Thanks!

Hi Dr., My son was up around 5am and had some lemon tea. He is no longer wheezing but coughing and can hear in the chest. He is happy, playing and having fun.
Will keep you posted if anything pops up. Thanks!

Hi Dr.,

Had to pick my son up from school around 10:30 since he was coughing and wheezing. He was coughing this morning at 5am when he woke up and mentioned he didn't think he was able to go to school. I said lets see how you feel in a couple of hours and then we decide since it is so early. I gave him a dose of pulsatilla 6C, 4 pellets. Later he had a large, very mushy poop. In fact he went to bathroom, came back to bed, ran back to bathroom in a few minutes and wasn't able to get to toilet quick enough and some went on floor. He didn't have a bowel movement yesterday, not sure about day before but definitely not yesterday.
He was still coughing some but sounding much better so I took him to school.

So then they called me around 10:30. I just gave him another dose of pulsatilla 6C (not sure where my 30c is at).

Please advise. Thanks!

once you give a higher potency(30C) and then give a lower power(6C) it will not work.
ok fine, now just give him a dose of calc carb 200 tomorrow morning and then leave it like that.
Give a dose of lobilia 30 (just the lobilia)now and then lets see how is he tomorrow.
