Cold for 3 weeks in 3.2 years old
My son is having cold for continuous 3 weeks now. It started with runny nose but now thick yellowish and sometimes thick whitish mucus comes out when he blows his nose, more frequent during early morning and evening time. The temperature in Bangalore is breezy with moderate cold, but he doesn't want to wear half sleeve shirts yet. He sneezes when taken outside or on exposure to cold winds outside. He is feeling hungry. His thirst remains normal. Sometimes nose blockage while sleeping in the afternoon and at nights. Breathing with open mouth and wheezing sound is coming. Through this questionnaire I was trying to pick up general and mental symptoms of the patient that would have helped me in coming out with a simillimum.
How old is the child? What's the most affected part and what makes the suffering worse and what makes it better?

Give him KALI BICH 30C every 4 hours ( 6 doses max.) on a single day only. Wait and watch for next two days and then report to me on his condition.
As soon as his condition changes, for better or worse, stop the rest of the doses.

Please give some time for Kali Bich to create a response. In case it doesn't show any sign of relief today, please raise its potency to 200C and give only two doses.
Phlegm is yellowish green and thus its productive cough. This is an indication that he has secondary bacterial infection. This is not viral any more.
If you follow homeopathy, it will take some time for the body to raise its immune system to overcome this infection.

Ok giving 2 doses of kali bich 200 today. Should I continue tomorrow also

I don't want you to give him more doses than required. You have to see his response. If you feel he is getting a response with 2 doses, then you can taper down the other doses gradually.
I feel, for him 2 doses are enough. So don't give more than that. If KALI BICH doesn't help even in 200C potency, we can go for the next indicated remedy based on his presenting symptoms.

Today morning the discharge from his nose is whitish...sometimes thin and sometimes thick with strains of blood. Iam getting very worried. None of the medicines are acting.
Piyabhattacharya last decade
Don't get worried. 3 week long cold will take time to go. Symptoms have changed and this is a good sign.
Now, please give him PHOSPHORUS 200C two doses, each dose 12 hours apart. Third dose if needed.
Hope he will be fine in the next 2 to 3 days.
