Restless 9month old given too many remedies Page 6 of 8

Hi.
Thank you--I don't drink coffee and we don't make it at the home. My husband does get a coffee on his walk with the baby every day. No sour or acidic foods for the baby. I can't figure out what would be negating the remedy. Nothing has changed during the weeks were we have had success versus weeks were it seems to have regressed. Her diet doesn't change much. I don't use fragrances either. The only thing I use that I can think of is toothpaste with mint but it's so little and I'm not consuming it. If we can figure out what is making the remedies not work, that would be amazing but I can't see anything different from when it works versus when it doesn't. I take fish oil, and vitamins. She and I get a probiotic and teas with some Chinese herbs (not sour) to help our immune system.
I have noticed that she has started to cry a little when men other than daddy hold her. She has let nearly any stranger hold her up until now but just this past week, she won't let men hold her except daddy. She still loves little boys though. She has not had any bad experiences with men but this is only the second time I've seen her not like something (the first being her new issue with getting her head wet).
Last night with Calc carb, she slept a little better in the beginning of the night but no change from 2-7am.
Thanks for all your help.

Hello and Happy New Year.
I was wondering if you think Lachesis might be a fit? I stumbled upon it on a labor site that said it was good for babies born with the cord around the neck. My baby did have that. Also, restless at night, and piercing eyes. People commented on her intense gaze from birth. She does babble a lot including making duck noises, clicking sounds and monkey sounds. She also has about 12 words she speaks which I'm told is a lot at 12 months. I'm not sure how much else fits or needs to. She's is still waking about six times a night and sulphur isn't sticking even though she eats no sour. She doesn't toss around anymore. She is still very happy and loves kids and animals. She had become shy around men in the past few weeks. She wouldn't let my dad (who has held her before) hold her this last week at all (nothing bad has ever happened). She smiles but puts her head into my chest if he tries to hold her. All women even strangers are fine and little boys are fine. She got a molar tooth which is a little early, another is on its way. She walked for the first time a few weeks before her first birthday but only because her baby cousin was walking. She shows no interest in walking since, preferring a fast crawl or climbing on anything she can. Maybe I seem crazy for wanting to keep trying to find a remedy! My only other hope is to try letting her cry to sleep--a popular method where mommy checks in every five minutes but offers no other comfort than a pat on the back. I don't want to do that but I'm so tired. 10 months of this now. Eager to hear your thoughts.
Thank you

You can try lachesis 30 one dose.
♡ telescope 8 years ago
Well, lachesis did not help. I just do not understand why she is waking up. She isn't hungry. She only wants to nurse so she can fall asleep again. She wakes crying and wants comfort. I tried baby ibuprofen to see if it was in fact teething pain. It also made no difference. I thought once she stopped rolling from side to side and kicking her legs up and down that she would sleep more soundly. But she stopped that months ago and still wakes numerous times. I'm so dejected that I cannot remedy why is she is waking up so much.
Thanks for all your effort. This seems like a lost cause.

There is one last way, it may work. Girl child generally needs the same medicine as the mother. If you have any health problems please post your symptoms so that I can try to get some hints from your case.
♡ telescope 8 years ago
Well, thank you. I will give it a try.
The only chronic issue I have doesn't have many symptoms. I have several types of thrombophilia which made it hard for me to conceive and I lost one pregnancy due to a blood clot in the uterus. I've never had any other blood clotting issues though and the only reason I know about the thrombophilia is because I got some genetic tests after the miscarriage. My mother had four miscarriages so I figured that I might have had some generic reason for having a hard time getting pregnant and then miscarry ing. Otherwise the only other issue I have had is frequent tendon injuries. I sometimes get tendonitis fairly easily which is also related to one type of thrombophillia (MTHFR mutation). I take the right kind of folate and now I rarely have tendon pro . That was the only main symptom I ever had. I don't have any chronic issues but I have some issues from her birth and my pregnancy.

The only chronic physical issue I have doesn't have many symptoms. I have several types of thrombophilia which made it hard for me to conceive and I lost one pregnancy due to a blood clot in the uterus. I've never had any other blood clotting issues though and the only reason I know about the thrombophilia is because I got some genetic tests after the miscarriage. My mother had four miscarriages so I figured that I might have had some genetic reason for having a hard time getting pregnant and then miscarrying. Otherwise the only other issue I have had is frequent tendon injuries. I sometimes get tendonitis fairly easily from very little effort. This is also related to one type of thrombophillia (MTHFR mutation). I take the right kind of folate and now I rarely have tendon problems.
I'm thin and slightly above average height. I have red hair and fair skin with green eyes. I have long fingers and I have circles under my eyes--always have not just since having the baby. I also have puffy eyes a lot. I don't like my belly button touched (only thing I can think of that's rather strange). Since the baby was born I tend to run warm. I am not good in extreme weather either cold or hot or humid. I get worn down quickly by the sun and humidity.
I'm a little shy with strangers but I often do public speaking which I am not shy about. Actually I like being the leader. I tend to be a high achiever putting a lot of pressure on myself for whatever tasks I do. So I can be a little judgmental of myself and others but I try to be kind.
I walk fast and love hiking and being out doors, but when tired, I don't want to leave the house at all.
I am not usually messy but since having the baby, I just can't keep up. I'm also not super tidy either but usually things look presentable (before baby).
My mother left when I was three so I have a little residual emotional stuff from that but I've also had therapy to sort most of it. I do like salt --I don't think I've ever tried Nat Mur for this history but I know it might apply.
I don't have many fears but I do get anxious about money quite often. I also get worried about what others might think of me. I'm a little nervous around dogs but not a lot. I tend to like and feed most animals. I'm a little nervous in the ocean too but when I go in, I have a great time. I love the green forest most.
I have had vivid dreams all my life. Often they are bad dreams to the point where I learned to stop my dreams. Certain Chinese herbs actually help a lot. Before the baby was born, I was a light sleeper and I kicked and tossed a lot. I don't know if I'm still like that because I haven't slept much in a year!
I'm not a great eater. I'm just not that interested in food. Lately I have strong sugar cravings. I don't do well with sugar though as it makes me feel sick. I cannot tolerate caffeine or wheat either. I don't eat cow dairy but I do like sheep dairy.
With this pregnancy I was very very ill and unable to move or talk for five months. If I stood or spoke I would vomit fiercely for twenty minutes. I had to have IVs and home care and take medication all pregnancy to help me not vomit. I also took blood thinning injections daily for the thrombophilias. Birth was good but I did have pitocin and an epidural. Since birth I had some urinary urgency but one dose of staphysagria 1m once every three months and it has helped enormously.
My moods are not great lately. I get offended easily by my husband and I am short tempered. I can be reactive in general but much worse if tired.
Please let me know if you need more information. I know this is a lot. I thought I should write as much as I could since I don't really have any current issues right now.

Ok. Thank you. I have been thinking more about if I have any issues right now. I suppose I do even though they are related to the sleep deprivation. One is that my mood is grumpy most of the time now and I am over-reactive. That is always the case when I don't get enough sleep. I am an acupuncturist so I'm used to caring for other people but I'm so grumpy now that I don't want to care for others as much. The other issue is that I keep getting sick. I'm fighting another cold and so in the last four months I have been sick four times. That is too much. I did take the psorinum 30c the last time I was sick. I know I would not get sick if I were getting proper sleep. Perhaps this information will help find a remedy. It didn't dawn on me that I should list the chronic issues I have that exist only because the baby doesn't sleep. Also, spiders make me nervous too and I forgot mention that before. But I really think that is it. Thank you again!

Please take one dose Arsenicum album 200 yourself and let your daughter get it through breast milk.
♡ telescope 8 years ago
Hi. Thank you. I took it and waited a week to see what would happen. For me, I was able to not get the cold I was fighting. However the baby now has a runny nose (uncooked egg whites). As far as her sleep, she is able to fall asleep on her own a lot more often. She wakes as much as before, but half of the time she can fall asleep alone again. She nurses about five times a night instead of eight so that is an improvement.
As far as a remedy for me goes, I remenbered that there is one other issue I have had since getting a bad cold five years ago. I get dandruff ever since this cold. I'm 40 and never had it prior. It's worse whenever I am sick. It itches a little and is small white flakes from the tip of my head towards the front and temples. It's better when washed but still present. Does that help in choosing the remedy for me that might help her? It's the only chronic physical issue I have with real symptoms that aren't related to this bad sleep.
Thanks again

Hi.
Well, things have backtracked. She woke every hour last night from 1:30-6:30 when we finally got up. She sat up every time she woke almost as soon as she woke, needing me to lay her back down and then nurse her. Prior to that, she slept from 8:30-11:30, waking/sitting up once and was able to lay down / fall asleep on her own. Then she woke two hours later sitting up and needed me to lay her back down/nurse. Then she woke every hour thereafter. She has a cold so there is some congestion but no other symptoms. She is also getting her second molar--broke through the gum two days ago. She is tending to sleep mainly on her belly sometimes with butt up in the air. I've noticed that she has had a few pimples around her mouth the last few days too. She fell down twice Thursday and had to take arnica. Mood is good. Appetite is reduced.
As for me, I am fighting the cold she has. So far, I'm not sick, but I do have a headache, teeth ache (front top) and body aches at the joints --mainly my arms. My mood is less grumpy since starting the remedy. I've noticed that I am startled easily in the past ten days since taking the remedy. First, her noises at night make my chest jump, and then this morning, my husband startled me twice just by walking around. This is new. Otherwise, as I mentioned, the only chronic symptom not related to the sleep deprivation is dandruff on the top front of my head. My urinary urgency that began after her birth has returned a little too. Normally I would take staphysagria 1m but I will wait until I hear if you want me to repeat anything or try a new remedy for me that will pass to her in my milk.
Thank you.

I want to add to my post from earlier in the week. In addition to what I already reported, the baby is harder and harder to put to bed. She takes over an hour now. This is only since I took the remedy and has been going on for over a week (it wasn't an ssue when I first started the remedy). It's a real struggle. She nurses and gets close to falling asleep and then sits up and starts playing and I lay her down and try to nurse and she seems calm and about to fall asleep and sits up to play. We go back and forth for over and hour. I'm pretty much at my wit's end now.

Let's go back to sulphur again. Take one dose Sulphur 200 yourself during day time not at night.
♡ telescope 8 years ago
Hi. Ok, I did it and waited. About two weeks after I took sulphur 200, she got 1 night with six hours. Other than that, it's very much the same pattern of waking every 45-1.5 hours. The only thing I have noticed that is new, is pulling on her eye lashes as she tries to fall asleep and decreased appetite. Her appetite is noticably lower and she looks thinner too. She's getting her last year-one molar and still practicing her walking skills but mostly she crawls. I gave her Cal Carb 30c a few days ago to help with that one molar that is taking a realllly long time to ascend. It is so slow that when it broke through the gums the gums swelled and sealed over it meaning it had to break through a second time a week later. The cal carb hasn't done anything for her though. The tooth is still coming very very slowly and she is still walking only a little bit, mainly at night (14 months now and has been able to take steps since 11 months but doesn't seem to like walking). And zero change in her sleep. She is getting a little pinkness on her vulva and above her left eye but I don't know what to give her since sulphur can't go after cal carb. I also don't know what might stop the eye lash pulling. She has really long eyelashes and I hate to see her pull them. Thank you

Hello,
So most of her waking stopped when I night weaned her. She will sleep from 8pm until about 3:30 am. Then she is pretty wakeful until I nurse at 5am. I've tried nux because of the timing of when she wakes but just pulsatilla and sulphur seem to help. Altho they mainly work to get us another half hour (waking at 4). Still a lot of teething discomfort so I think once they all come in, it will settle.
In the meantime, do you have any recommendations for her not wanting to be touched? Most of the time, she brushes my hand away from her when I place a lingering hand on her. Even when nursing, she doesn't like me to lay my hand in certain areas. Her head and back are the worst.
Also hates a wet face so washing her hair is panic inducing. Even when I give her sulphur or pulsatilla she hates the hair washing.
Just curious if you have any ideas of a remedy.
New info: gets a bit of eczema from wheat so we don't give it to her. Still dislikes eggs. Doesn't enjoy eating overall. Runs warm but sweats less than she used to. Everything is better in fresh air outside. Very affectionate with toddler friends. Very verbal and smart. Prefers playing with someone rather than alone. Fears only her face getting wet/hair washing. Is shy of men.
Thank you!

Give Pulsatilla 30 and observe for 2 days
♡ telescope 8 years ago
Thank you. I gave her the pulsatilla and waited 2 days. She ate eggs willingly for the first time the day I gave it, although today she refused them. She was also less shy of men and less annoyed by lingering touch but just a tad less annoyed. Her panic about her face and hair getting wet was unchanged.
As far as waiting two days, day two was interrupted because she ran into the corner of a desk. I gave her arnica repeatedly throughout the day. That night, she woke at 3:30 am like always but for the first time in her life she slept from 3:30-6am. Normally she wakes every half hour from 3:30-5:00 when she nurses. She nurses at 5, then 6, then 7 and then 7:45 when she wakes up. Because she slept all the way until 6, she nursed just one time in the night and got up at 7. It was amazing. Do you think it was all the arnica? The arnica relationship to pulsatilla? Or maybe a concussion (I'm joking--mostly)!?
thank you.

Cailanna 8 years ago
Well, I'm not sure either. I waited a bit and tried the arnica again but it didn't seem to make much difference. Frankly, I think it actually may have been the head injury. It has been over two weeks and she has a little dent plus a tiny bump that still remains. Almost as though a chip of the bone separated from the forehead! I'm not saying that is certainly the case but it sort of seems like that. Any recommendations for absorbing that little bump and smoothing the bone structure?
Also, she recently has been having loose foul stool (6.5 days). A few doses of sulphur two days ago resulted in a firm poop yesterday but today it was loose again. It started green and scummy almost a week ago, and then went to brown and yellow with undigested food. It was changeable so I used pulsatilla on the second day which resulted in no bowel movements for the third day. The next day it came back and the bottom was getting rather raw with a lingering scent. As such I tried sulphur for one day with four doses. Although it was firm yesterday, it's thick, loose, yellow, foul again today but the bottom is no longer red. Zero pain, little gas, nor gurgling, no bloating and no vomiting. We had been traveling and she ate wheat which she normally doesn't. She was also around chickens/feces and dogs and the ocean so it could be a food/water born pathogen or illness since a week is a rather long time for wheat to do this. Two adult people staying at this location developed red puss/swollen eye styes so there was certainly staph bacteria in excess too. Mood is a little tired likely also because of the time change.
Still hates having her hair washed!

Thank you. I gave her calf carb at 5am. Her first bowl movement came later than usual at 11am and was similar to yesterday's. Her second was later in the day and was both solid and very very wet. The wetness was such that her diaper was stained yellow everywhere but the excrement itself was solid. So she had both a very liquidy bowel movement and solid at the same time. The solid was strange in that it was almost doughy in consistency. Darker color and not as foul smelling. More gas today but without scent. Her mood has been despondent-- sitting and gently crying without provocation suddenly throughout the day. Plus some frustrated slapping of herself and others which is unusual for her. She is aggressive only when teething so I checked her upper gums and the year-two molars on top are cutting now. She has been teething 8 teeth for the past five months it seems. But she'll be done for a while once these last two erupt fully. Appetite is low, thirst is mildly higher.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.
