sulphur for acne
I have very oily, acne-prone skin. I've been taking sulphur for the past week. It is causing me to have new breakouts (cystic and whiteheads) every day. I'm wondering if this is a good sign? Should the correct remedy cause more breakouts? Or would a correct remedy make acne cease right away? If I keep taking sulphur, will I keep getting new acne indeffinately, or will they eventually stop for good? So basically, my question is: are new breakouts a good sign, or a sign that the remedy is wrong? Thanks.tatyana1111 on 2006-03-30

just wanted to add: that in the past, I would take just one dose of sulfur, it would bring out more acne, and I'd wait for it to heal. Then if I would take another dose, once again it would cause new breakouts. So I thought I'd try taking it every day and see if I can get rid of all the acne for good. Is my thinking correct? Does the correct remedy do this?

Dr.Jecee: Thanks for your reply. I have tried this in the past: where I take only a single dose, let my skin break out and wait for those breakouts to go away. But, that did not cure my acne. I would still continue to have oily, acne prone skin. And every time I repeated another dose, once again I'd get breakouts the next day. So a single dose never healed anything for good, it would just cause new breakouts, but it was never a cure.
