Hi Rishimba,
I have similar problems to those 'Sore Head' has reported above- I'm wondering if Sepia will help me too?

My response to your survey is below:
Patient ID: Sex: Female, 26 years old.

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?
itching, burning, painful scalp, significant hair loss, worsening all the time it seems. i have also recently developed dandruff/flaking scalp. was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue last year and my adrenals seem to now be doing much better.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
TMJ problems, a sore jaw, headaches spanning from my jaw/ears up the sides of my head to the temples. bad cramps with my cycle. I have also been getting other skin irritation lately, such as acne breakouts more than normal and increased hair growth on my face, chin, hands, chest, etc. (it's not terribly thick, coarse hair, but i did not have much of any there before.)

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
fatigue and anxiousness, I also feel depressed and unattractive at times, but not all the time.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
Very anxious and hopeless at once.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
I recently moved (2 yrs ago) to California, and am originally from the Southeastern U.S. This was a stressful move and time in my life, I guess.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
It seems to be pretty much round the clock, but I am in an absolute stupor first thing in the morning. the pain with my hair/head seems to be all the time.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
I haven't yet found anything that helps, I feel as though a good shampoo should make it better, but I tend to just lose LOTS of hair in the shower which is nerve wracking. and my scalp is still sensitive and flaky afterward, even with medicated shampoos.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
possibly; i have felt i have a hormonal imbalance for a while, did some tests, doctors think it looks 'ok'. but there's a wide range, and it still doesn't feel right to ME. i have been taking vitamins and paying close attention to my diet since being diagnosed with adrenal fatigue last fall. i'm on the upswing from that, but hair problems are getting worse!

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
i like it hot!! i find cold weather very abrasive. humid or dry doesn't really matter, as long as it's warm.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
can be all of the above, just depends on the time. i'm not so terrible to be around, just short bursts of the above.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
i like thunderstorms, they are refreshing. might get a headache or joint pain (in my jaw), but not always

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
yes, absolutley.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
very much so, but particularly light. ok, maybe particularly all of them.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
not really- i do tend to be messing with my hair/face a lot now though.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
i love my friends, family, and husband most of the time. i will occasionally get quick tempered over something (which was very uncharacteristic for me until recently), be quite mad for a bit, and then regret it. i don't yell or anything, just kind of silently fume about it. i think our relationship is good, i love him very much. he has been quite patient in all i'm dealing with, all things considered.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
i haven't in a while. i'm afraid of the unknown right now.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
i tend to crave salty or sweet food and also fats (usually good fats like avocado, nuts, etc.). i also crave coffee/tea/chocolate. i try to avoid anything too crunch because of the jaw tenderness.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
normal, i could probably drink more water, though.

14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? normal to excessive, being 'less' only a couple days out of the month.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?
broccoli. we don't get along.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? i was having night sweats in the trunk area, they have gotten better. i do get flushed and sweat occasionally for no reason during the day as well- trunk area again.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
brown to dark brown, varies in shape.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
i usually fall asleep on my side. i sleep soundly but do not wake feeling rested.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
yes

20. What peculiar or strange sensation do you have in any part of your body at times? Do you sometimes feel ‘ as if…..’ in some part of the body? hmm... my head feels numb and tingly right now from the pain on my scalp. i also get very bad cramps during my cycles, as if i'm being kicked or stabbed. literally terrible.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
vitamins: C, D, Fish oil, Iron supplement, B complex
herbs: licorice root for adrenal support (occasional, did not seem to help hormonal symptoms), holy basil

22. What major diseases are running in your family?
no family history of baldness (except in men and it's not too severe), heart disease, diabetes, macular degeneration, arthritis, fibromyalgia, bad teeth (leading to gum disease), skin cancer, breast cancer. (mostly grandparents, not parents).

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.
I am tallish (5'7'), about 130 lbs, caucasian medium skin, freckles, tan easily. medium brown hair with wavy texture. thinning is not terribly noticeable to others, but my current hair volume is less than half of what it was 2 years ago. hair is dry and brittle, and i typically tame it with oils. have persisting redness in the face (around cheeks, chin and nose).
24. (ONLY FOR FEMALES)

If you are not having normal menstrual cycles, please answer the following questions:

- Are the periods early, regular or late in general? How long do they last?
lately have varied between 26 and 32 days.
- Do you suffer from any kind of physical or mental discomfort before, during or after the periods?
yes, a whole range.

- Is the flow scanty, normal or excessive?
excessive, then scanty, then normal.

- Is the blood thick bright red or pale watery?
thick and bright red at first.

- Do you notice any clots in the flow?
no, i don't much anymore, but have at times.

no, sepia will not help you as you are not a sepia personality.

i suggest you to take PHOSPHORUS as your constitutional remedy and wait for some 2 months to show its effect.

take 5 doses of PHOSPHORUS 200C, each dose after 12 hours. thus in the first 48 hours you will be taking all the five doses of the remedy.

after that you should not take any remedy and wait for improvements to happen to you for the next 2 months.

however, you will come here every 15 days and report progress.

you should take the doses in empty stomach and clean mouth. dont take any food or water one hour before or after the dose, dont even wash your mouth.

one dose would typically consist of 5 drops of remedy in some 10 ml of water slowly sipped up. allow the remedy mix to get totally absorbed in your mouth linings before you swallow it.

take bland food for the next few days. avoid coffee, mint, onion and garlic.

there may be initial aggravation of physical symptoms for some 48 hours after which cure will start, so dont get panicked.

best wishes.

Thank you, Rishimba for your recommendation of Phosphorus 200c- I have not yet been able to find that dosage in my area (only 30c), so I may wind up ordering online. I will certainly report back in 15 days! Thank you so much.

2young 4 hairloss last decade
I expect to have the Phosphorus 200c arrive today, and so will begin my dosage tonight or tomorrow for the 48 hour period. I'm wondering if I should stop taking my regular vitamins during this time? (Vit C, D, B complex, Iron and Omega 3)

Just checking :) Thanks!

2young 4 hairloss last decade
please stop all artificial intake if you can.

but if its absolutely required, you should continue it.

rishimba last decade
I have started the dosage- just took the second dose at 12 hours. I almost immediately developed a very sore throat and feel as though I'm getting a cold. Does that mean it's working? or should I be concerned?

My vitamins are not required, just recommended, so I have stopped them for the course of this remedy. This is my first time trying Homeopathy, so I'm not really sure what to expect- maybe a sore throat is a normal sign of my body working here?

2young 4 hairloss last decade
if you dont have any physical pathology during the time of taking the remedy, you will not have any aggravations.

however, if you have a physical symptom, which is covered by the remedy and if you are sensitive to potencies, the aggravation may be there but lasting for some 48 hours maximum.

sore throat is a symptom which is strongly covered by phosphorus and if you were having a bit of it during the time of taking phosphorus, you may feel it aggravated.

what else did you feel. especially, did you feel that you were sleeping better and have a sense of well being.

update me on your observations.

rishimba last decade
I didn't feel I had a sore throat at all before I started the Phosphorus remedy- however, now it is quite sore, and my head also feels congested. I suppose I am sleeping better, but I have also been VERY tired, taking naps more than usual. My sense of well being is good. Just tired.

2young 4 hairloss last decade
please dont take any medicines for the sore throat, especially anti-biotics.

you may be going through some healing crisis. once this phase is over, you will gradually start getting better and better.

good sleep and high energy levels are the indicators of getting cured.
loss of hair and all other problems also would be taken care by your system gradually.

Have been having hair loss for about 1 year. It started after some heavy cleansing and thyroid supplements - may have caused low level adrenal fatigure.

Had was very painful (now improved immensely) and very itchy (now just itchy). Also, had rash - used Sulphur 12x, then 30c it disappeared - now returning (4 months later).

Do you think a higher dose of sulphur will help with hair loss? Hair loss is heavier by temples. Have also lost some genital hair, eyelashes and eyebrows. Some improvement in each. But, still not normal.

Looking for thoughts - Thanks!

storage-girl last decade
yes, sulphur covers hair loss from eyebrows and genital area.

if sulphur has worked on you, this will also help you in getting back hair.

you may take weekly dose of SULPHUR 200C.

Feel fatigued with a feeling as if back is tired and wudnt carry my.

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. What brings you to the forum? Describe all your problems, including those that may not exactly be on the top of your mind now, in as much detail a possible.
Ans 1. Complaint of hair loss (major complaint), deficiency of Vitamin D3. I feel tired all the time and experience numbness in arms during sleep and sometimes during the day feet and legs become numb when pressed against something. Tolerance for stress has become minimal, so much so I can start crying very easily and that was not always the case.

2. How do these problems affect you mentally? How does it affect your family life and inter-personal relations with friends and colleagues?
Ans 2. I am going into a depressive state because of hair loss. Family life is severely being affected as I don’t like to meet people anymore. I rather spend time inside my room and not go out anywhere.

3. What time of the day your problems trouble you the most? Describe the time modalities properly for all your problems.
Ans 3: Evening is very difficult because by then I have very little energy although my work is not physical work. The depression starts by 5:00 P.M and I feel like just getting into bed and not go out anywhere. In the morning as I get up the hair is all around on the floor and after washing it everyday, the hair loss is maximum.

4. Normally, when you are in a healthy state, what time of the day you are most active and what time you feel lazy and tired?
Ans 4: 9:00 A.M when I start my work, I feel fresh and as the day passes fatigue starts to become unbearable by 5:00 P.M. As soon as I see hair falling on my desk and under my chair on the floor, my depression starts to kick in.

5. Generally, is there some time in the day when you feel extremely irritable?
Ans 5: Not particularly. But I do feel depressed most of the time. I guess if my hair growth starts I wont be so miserable.

6. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? Give proper details.
Ans 6: Two years back the hair fall started but I really didn’t take it so seriously till last year August 2008, when the hair fall was immense, so much so I cant keep it open any more and have to tie it in a bun so the thinness is not so visible. And all my life I used to really enjoy keeping them open and that gave me so much energy every morning. No particular event has happened but may be a little financial difficulties which started in 2008 only cud be one cause.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
Ans 7: Just the sight of hundreds of hair on the floor can cause acute depression and I find my self screaming sometimes at the slightest of stress.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
Ans 8: Only when I am very tired in the evening, I feel depressed. No external events really affect. Its just the hair fall that is the main cause of the depression. I don’t feel like meeting people or entertaining them in the house.

9. Which weather worsens your complaints – wet, hot or cold?
Ans 8: Hot is unbearable and I feel very irritable. Cold is preferred.

10. Which weather do you generally prefer the most?
Ans 9: Cold weather.

11. Describe yourself as a person in as much detail as possible. Discuss general personality traits; the way you express yourself in social settings, family and work environment, with friends, etc.
Ans 10: I have been extremely hard working. I had to support the children after the death of their father with whom my marriage was not very happy. Married at 17 yrs and widowed at 27, I went back to studies immediately, took up a job and started struggling. Fortunately I completed my dgree with a gold medal, jobs have been progressing since then, married after one year of the death and settled down. The struggle to keep the children happy and comfortable is on going. I usually don’t loose my temper but if I do then it can be wild. I am usually very friendly, easy to start a conversation with. Most of my life I have been outgoing and active. Its just since two years I find my self withdrawing and not wanting to meet people. I am good at time management and usually end up looking after the house along with full time work. No particular help help available. I have always been recognized for academic successes and people think I am a good learner and a good teacher, with a mind of my own.

12. Describe in detail if you harbour any negative emotions.
Ans 12: Yes recently I have felt I don’t like any of my family members.

13. How is your memory?
Ans 13: Mostly good.

14. Do you suffer from bouts of anger? If yes, which category do they fall in – frequent, occasional or rarely?
Ans 14: Rarely yes, but some one has to be principally wrong to trigger my anger.

15. Which of the following words describe you the best – Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable, Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Irritable, Lazy, Super-active, Tearful, Vindictive, Confused, etc.
Ans 15: Moody, Nervous (recently as people tell me), Irritable, Tearful (sometimes and started recently after hair fall)

16. Please answer the following clearly:
- Do you tend to weep easily? Yes and on my own.
- How is your memory? Good
- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? Nervous
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? Yes
- How sensitive you are to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? Very sensitive specially noise.
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? No, generally composed and calm in public.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife? I feel hurt all the time.

17. What are your chief fears?
Ans 17: That I or my daughter will have such less hair that we wont be able to go out.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
Ans 18: With one arm stretched under my pillow and lie on my side. I never sleep on my back straight.

19. Is there any pattern in your dreams?
Ans 19:None. Mostly no dreams at all.

20. What all food items do you crave for what all you simply hate to have?
Ans 20: I like curries and tikka, generally slightly spiced foods.

Ans 23: Ice cream because it hurts my teeth as my jaw bone is shrinking and roots are becoming exposed.

24. Is there any time or occasion when you feel an uncontrollable urge to eat?
Ans 24: Yes before going to bed. Generally I enjoy eating food. It calms me down.

please take weekly doses of SEPIA 1M.

please take only 3 times, that is, for three weeks and then stop to observe changes if any.

stop all remedies and all other allopathic medicines.

please note the changes and report after a month.

one dose would consist of 5 drops of remedy in some 10 ml of water slowly sipped up in clean mouth and empty stomach. no food or water one hour before or after.

avoid sour food during treatment.

if the hairfall stops in one month, contact me for further advise.

if SEPIA works on you, it will take care of everything. you dont need to take nat mur or any other remedy.

if after taking a dose of sepia, if your sinus symptoms aggravate, you should not take any remedy. you should just bare the pain for some days. the curing process sometimes brings in aggravation.
