hi rishimba, i had posted you on the 22nd of june 09 about scalp pain with hair loss. you adviced me to take 5 doses of Ars Alb 200 C & then top it up with Ars Alb 10 M single dose about 15 to 20 days and a 10 M dose after 6 months & a final dose after another 6 months, if symptoms should reccure. its been more than a yr since my final 10 M dose. Over all i am in a much much better condition (lot less pain but no improvement in hair density in that area) than i used to be thanks to you, but of late say about a 2 to 3 months, i feel pain in my scalp. what do i do?? I get pain in the same area as before but not as severe or frequent, the hair in the area shows no sign of growing back. Rishimba pls help. Thank you & God bless.

Hi!
I have similar problems with very sore, very itchy scalp. Mostly on the crown of my head and that's where the most shedding occurs.
It started the end of July 2009. I used to wash my hair every 2 weeks but now the itchiness and dryness makes me wash every week. My scalp is still very very sore at the crown, not as itchy and doesn't shed after I wash but 5 days later, it begins to itch bad and the shedding starts again.

Patient ID:LoveConquersAll Sex: Female Age: 25

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. What brings you to the forum? Describe all your problems, including those that may not exactly be on the top of your mind now, in as much detail a possible.

I'm here to find answers to remedy my hair problems described above. I have acne since I was 11. Wow, writing that made me a little sad. I've always had a dry scalp problem but never had issues with itchiness and shedding.

2. How do these problems affect you mentally? How does it affect your family life and inter-personal relations with friends and colleagues?

I feel self conscious, I've always had healthy hair. I feel like I'm losing control. It's depressing, sometimes I don't want to be seen. It can be better and I just want to get to the root of the problem already. Frustrated but hopeful.

3. What time of the day your problems trouble you the most? Describe the time modalities properly for all your problems.

Mainly 5 to 6 days after washing. Anytime of day.

4. Normally, when you are in a healthy state, what time of the day you are most active and what time you feel lazy and tired?

I'm most active in the mornings and late at night (wee hours of the morning) During the day I'm on autopilot, indifferent, kind of b 'blah' attitude, ready to go home and walk around naked.

5. Generally, is there some time in the day when you feel extremely irritable?

In the afternoons or mornings if I didn't get much sleep. Mostly anytime if I didn't get much sleep.

6. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? Give proper details.

End of July 2009, I just relocated earlier that month after graduating college. I stopped eating meat about 9 months before. I thought that played a role so I started adding protein shakes but that didn't really help.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

Dryness aggravates my scalp. when I apply natural oils it seem to help with the itch for a few hours then itches again. the soreness seemed to go away with multivitamins specifically for 'hair skin and nails' and an all natural herbal female hormonal formula helped with the shedding.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

I think my new environment may play a role. I feel less independent. I'm with my mom who's the absolute best. I've skipped menses in the past but this year I skipped maybe two months. they seem normal, slight cramping, tender breast, about 6 days long, not heavy. I recently found a small lump in my right breast.

9. Which weather worsens your complaints – wet, hot or cold?

I love hot weather, even the stifling heat. I rather that over cold weather anyday. Rain is very relaxing to me. I can't tell with weather worsens my complaints but the cold I'm not too fond of.

10. Which weather do you generally prefer the most?

Hot HOt HOT!!! I'm a July baby!

11. Describe yourself as a person in as much detail as possible. Discuss general personality traits; the way you express yourself in social settings, family and work environment, with friends, etc.

I'm shy and quiet at first until I'm comfortable. then I'm silly, talkative fun. I'm sensitive about my family and myself. I can have a bad attitude if I feel like I'm being taken advantage of or mocked. Sarcasm is so not funny. I'm calm then I can explode if someone repeadly does something they say they wouldn't do or if I feel backed in a corner. I'm non judgemental and not easily moved by certain behaviors. I guess that's somewhat a cynic. I'm soft spoken most of the time but aggressive when making a point. Some take it as anger but its passion. I'm now self conscious of my hair, nothing else. I appreciate and love every part of me and everyone. I'm a problem solving, 'the bottom line, big picture, the point of it all' kind of person. Hope that made sense.

12. Describe in detail if you harbour any negative emotions.

I have negative feelings for men because they pressure me for things (sex) that I'm not willing to give when they want it. When they don't get what they want they tend to bitch and that makes me angry.

13. How is your memory?

Great memory.

all but super-active & vindictive

16. Please answer the following clearly:
- Do you tend to weep easily? YES
- How is your memory? GREAT
- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? WONDERFUL
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? Only by my mother
- How sensitive you are to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? Very sensitive to all
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? Talk to myself A LOT, reenacting situations, fidgety, daydreaming.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
Love my family and would do anything for them though they get on my nerves. Except my mom, she's an angel. Friends are as important to me but I care for them. I'm a lover and I love hard with everything. I've had my heart broken but I'm still open to love without any restrictions.

17. What are your chief fears?

Not doing what I'm on earth to do. Not taking care of my family.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
I sleep on my side or back and I need 8 hours. I can sleep longer than that sometimes.

19. Is there any pattern in your dreams?

I tend to have dreams about the past like old homes.

I sweat a lot when I'm nervous, my palms, feet and armpits.

26. How is your bowel movement and stool type?

it's soft after almost every meal.

27. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

Yes by myself but it takes work with men. I've never had an orgasm from penile penetration.

28. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?

I think because I'm non judgemental and I'm willing to give anyone a chance or two. I think there is a reason for everything.

29. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

All natural no additives herbal female hormonal formula. multivitamins, MSM sulfur, Zinc I'm taking now, maybe I should be more patient, they may work.

30. Any major diseases running in your family?

My father's cousin has had lumps in her breasts.

31. Describe your overall appearance

Jamaican, 5'9 165lbs, athletic build, brown skin, dark brown eyes and hair.

32. (ONLY FOR FEMALES)

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering? Soreness and cramping in my feet. The soreness used to result from the cramps and last for a few months, but now they're sore all the time, even though I haven't had a severe cramp in some time.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
Hair loss and soreness on top of head, around forehead, back pain, finger pain, tiredness. Dry, irritable skin on face which I assume is Rosacea, except that it gets better if I take ibuprofen.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

I've been in pain for about four years, and I get tired of feeling like I can't do what other normal people my age can.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

Pitiful.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

I had a bulging disk in my neck, and one in my lower back. I started wearing a heel lift for a leg length difference, and shortly after is when the horrible cramps in my feet started. Doctors told me it couldn't be related, but I stopped wearing the lifts after a year, and they started getting better slowly. I don't wear the lift anymore, and it's been almost two years since I stopped.

The hair loss started shortly after that.

6. Which time of the day you are worst? Evenings.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

Standing is the worst, walking a close second. But my feet hurt 24/7, so it's just a matter of how much. Squatting down to pick up or clean something upsets my feet greatly.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

Stress seems to make my feet worse. I can't tell that there are any differences with my hair loss.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

I can't tell that it makes much difference, except that my feet will sometimes be numb during cold weather.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

I'm a pretty easy-going mild person. I don't get stressed easily, and I avoid things that cause me to.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?

A little nervous, as it usually makes the dogs and youngest daughter nervous.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?

Sometimes, depends on what's going on.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?

No.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?

I talk to myself sometimes. Mostly if I'm angry or trying to remember something.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

My family is the most loving, supportive I could ever ask for. It took a while for my husband to really recognize how much pain I was in, but after a few cramps with me sobbing my heart out, he is very caring and helpful now.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

I fear this lasting the rest of my life, then finding out that there was something that could have been done to fix it. I don't have repetitive dreams.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

I crave sugar...sweets. I don't like vegetables.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?

I usually tend to be thirsty, but not overly so.

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?

I tend to want to eat whether I'm hungry or not.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

Not usually, but I have bouts of upset stomach and diahrea. Anything at all can cause it. Or nothing, even when I haven't eaten.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?

Normal, head is most.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?

It tends to be lose a lot, sometimes normal. It's daily.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

I sleep fairly well, on my side to go to sleep, but I often wake up on my back.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

Yes.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?

My body seems to be weaker, and I can't do what other people my age can without pain.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

I've tried lots of things. I've had the shots in my feet, which helped with the pain, until the next cramp. I've taken short courses of steroid packs, NSAIDs, and Neurotin, and Lyrica. The Neurotin helped but made my heart beat irregular and bothered me.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

Diabetes, Thyroid, high cholesterol and blood pressure, diverticulitis. (I've had lots of blood work done, all was normal.)

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.

No one ever guesses that anything is wrong with me by looking at me. I look normal.

My attention was drawn to the title of this thread which reads

'Sore Scalp & Hair Loss (to Joe)'

I presume that the Joe referred to is me.

I have been advising some patients on it and thought that I should copy my default therapy aka 'Joepathy' in the hope that it can help you.

I believe that your scalp will not react to Johnsons Hair Shampoo as it is made from a different formula which will alter the ph of your scalp and ensure that the bacteria that populate it causing dandruff are not permitted to proliferate, thereby curing your problem.

The following remedies will help to arrest the loss of hair and will also help to regrow the hair in about 2 months.

Arnica Q or Mother Tincture 5ml bottle
Arnica 30c in the Liquid Dilution in Ethanol
2 500ml bottles of Spring water sold in supermarkets.
Any good Fish Liver Oil in capsule form.

Method:

Pour out about 100ml of water fron each bottle.

Pour in 10 drops of Arnica Q into the water in a bottle and you should notice that the water bubbles freely when the bottle is shaken about.

Half a teaspoonful of this medicated water is to be applied on the scalp twice daily.
Please note that this water remedy with Arnica Q is NOT for oral use. It is only for massaging into the roots of the hair.

Arnica 30c for Oral use

Make the Wet dose of Arnica 30 as follows:

Order Arnica 30c in a 5ml in the Liquid Dilution in Ethanol in a bottle with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you take a capfull which is a dose twice daily. This is best taken first thing in the morning and last thing before bed.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before a capful of the bottle is sipped as directed.

Take a capsule of the Fish Liver Oil daily.

Use Johnsons Baby Shampoo daily for your shower which will help to wash away the perspiration from the scalp which causes the bacteria that are responsible for your Dandruff to propogate.

Avoid Coffee, preserved meats like sausages, ham and bacon, and all canned cola beverages as they antidote the therapy.

It is understood that you will STOP all other remedies and drugs you are taking today.

Drink plenty of water and exercise daily for at least 45 minutes like walking or jogging depending on your age. The idea is to sweat it out. This is essential to promote the circulation of blood in the body which Arnica will help to promote.

Patients who suffered from severe hair loss who were losing over 200 hairs daily have confirmed that they discovered in about a week that the loss of their hair had been arrested. They also noticed that the new growth was plainly visible above their scalp when their hair was parted in about 6 weeks.

Report progress in 2 weeks.

lucky83-I did post on a new forum, and I was told to take Sulphur-Im a little nervous, just so scared of something making it worse. Im really not sure why my burning started. I remember having a 'glaze' placed after a highlight, and my hair never seemed 'glazed' it was more dry, and lifeless-which surprised my hairdresser. I then tied WEN shampoo and the first few months I loved it, then I felt I started loosing hair. A few months later, the burning started. At the same time, I had a sudden death in the family that I felt did affect me, I also switched hair dressers (which ment a new line of color and products) I also had braces put on. I've had food allergy testing, scalp bx. and seen more than a few doctors. I think Im going to have some further hormone levels drawn just because it's strange how the burning will come and go, some days it makes me wanna crawl outta my skin and other days theres nothing. My scalp is red and inflamed. It seems to control so much of my life, Im jealous of people who have a normal non burning full head of hair :( Keep me posted on the sepia and good luck!

Im curious as to what your scalp bx said. I also had one in which just came back as seb. dermatitis. Im glad that nothing else major came back on the pathology report but still confused with no meds or prescription shampoos helping and only making it worse for me. Im nervous about taking the prescribed sepia also. how long ago did your symptoms start?
I noticed taking a B-complex vitamin and biotin helps with the burning.
