Bronchitis and Aversion to Food
Dear Doctors, Pl. help me in this.My daughter is 5 yrs old now. She borned prematured after completion of 7th month. She was 1.2 Kgs when she borned. Now her weight is 12 Kgs. The problem is - she has been frequently atacked by cough and cold from the age of 1 yr. We were using allopathic medicines - antibiotics and nebulizations for a long time - for about 3 yrs. But its still getting repeated. 6 months ago, I went to a homoeopath. He suggested - ANTIM TART 1M - weekly one dose for about 4 months. Not found useful.
She does not eat well - Aversion to food - takes very less food. Eats very slowly.
I used Remedy Finder in ABCHomoeopathy site, given all the symtoms. Top three remedies tool suggested, in the order:
1. Arsenic Alb.
2. Nux-V
3. Nat-Mur
Could anybody suggest me, Is this correct? which one I have to use? which potency? Thanks in advance.

1. whether she prefers warm surroundings ie whether she likes to be covered or she prefers cold surroundings and open air.
2. whether she has a mild disposition or an irritable diposition. How is her attitude towards her friends and relatives?
3.What other physical problems, if any does she have.
4.At what time she feels better and at what time does she feel worse like in the morning, evening, late night etc.
5.What do you think is the causative factor for starting her problems.

=> She prefers cold weather. She wants to be covered while sleeping.
2. whether she has a mild disposition or an irritable diposition. How is her attitude towards her friends and relatives?
=> Mild disposition. She is more attached to friends/relatives.
3.What other physical problems, if any does she have.
Underweight, very weak.
4.At what time she feels better and at what time does she feel worse like in the morning, evening, late night etc.
=> she feels better in the warm weather; worse in the cold weather.
5.What do you think is the causative factor for starting her problems.
=> cold weather, weather change, water change, eating chilled items, fruits (bananas, grapes, oranges, water melon etc) eating more chacolates.

- Whenever cough comes, it comes in the folloing manner:
Starts with light cough and running nose. After one or two days it becomes severe with distress and fever. cough with phlugm also.
- She likes sweets (but eats less).
- She is mentally very sensitive. Gets hurt very easily; for simple reasons.
- Always looks for some company as security.
- Aversion to food all times (morning/noon/evening).
- She takes very less water.
I am looking for a permanent solution for - the bronchitis, aversion to food and increase the weight. My homoeopath said - bronchitis may not be cured permanantly; it may come again when conditions occur. Is it true?

Any practising professional is not supposed to say that he can cure those diseases which Modern Medical Science considers as maintained diseases. The examples of such diseases are high blood pressure, heart diseases, AIDS, asthama etc.
On the basis of the information provided it seems that Nux Vomica, Natrum Mur and Puls have chances to succeed.
You may start with Nux Vomica 30c. Please give her three doses of Nux Vomica 30c at a gap of 4 hours for 2 days and see how she responds in the next 15 days.
One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 1 drop in some 10 ml water. Sip up slowly.
Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 15-20 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Dear Kadwa, thanks for the suggestion.
I bought Nux-V 30C and given 3 doses yesterday with 4 hrs gap. She had fever (100.4F) with light distress before I gave first dose. Within 1 hr. temperature has come down to normal (98.6 F); distress also reduced.
Temperature is raising today again after her lunch (currently 99.6F). I am yet to start the today's doses.
What do you suggest? Shall I go ahead?

If you think that she needs medical attention due to any developments it is better to consult a local doctor. It is always better to consult a doctor in person for acute complaints.

I have taken my daughter to a local doctor. He said, she has Diarrhea symptoms. So, I am using allopathic medicines for this. Is it ok to use allopathic when we use homoeopthic medicines? As I told you earlier I have given her Nux-v 30c, 3 times for a day.

Please give her 2 pellets of bio-chemic combination bc-8 4 times a day at a gap of 3 hours for 1-2 days instead of allopathic medicnes. Please stop bc-8 if she has no such symptoms.

Local Dr. asked us to continue the allopahtic and she is ok now.
1. Using allopathic medicines would interfere with homoeopathis medicines given to her?
2. Many of my daughters teeth has big cavities; so that the muscle below the teath is appearing. Her age is 5yrs; she is prematured; borned after completion of 7th month. I have taken her to dental dr. got fillings for them. Now again I see new cavities. Pl. let me know if you need more details. Pl. suggest homoeo remedies. Thanks

Whenever an indicated homeo remedy is given it sets in the curative action and it effects some discharge. In this case it may be diarrhoea. Now if one goes to allopath for diarrhoea he will give antibiotics etc. Now this discharge is not triggered by bacterias, it is triggered by the remedy. So intake of antibiotics is uncalled for. What one can do is that he can go to the allopath for diagnosis and then take bio-chemic medicines. It is not good to introduce another homeo remedy to check the discharge triggered by the homeo remedy. It is bad neither. But such kind of suggestions can't be given online as acute management gives very tough moments.
You may give her 1 pellet each of calc phos 6x and calc flour 6x thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours for her tooth cavities. Please give her these salts every alternate week.

I am also giving her calc phos 6x and calc flour 6x alternate weeks, as suggested above.
Pl. suggest what should I do next. As mentioned above, she is underweight. We are looking for more increase in weight.

A homeo remedy can't be used to achieve targets like weight gain. You should not repeat Nux Vomica 30c if her improved symptoms hold. If there is worsening of her symptoms you should give her Nux Vom 30 in the earlier manner and wait 15 days for the response. You should continue the tissue salts. Chyavanprash or Amrit Rasayan may also be considered. If she is not averse to taking chyavanprash or amrit rasayan and responds well, these could be given for a long period.
