My advice would be only to change the remedy if the Nux-v stops working or something new develops. This would be my process in clinic with any prescription I had made. It might be that Nux is not right, but the biggest mistake I make in clinic is always to change the remedy too soon.

I didn't have enough time after clinic yesterday to write about Sepia and the relationship it has to the issue of Poverty.

The primary problem of Sepia is around the issue of love and family. Sepia is drained by those she or he loves.They must give up everything for them - Independence, Joy, Time, Sleep and so on. They end up with nothing left for themselves, no life for themselves. Their sense of impoverishment is not just around money but all the things that make life worth living. Being a wife, a husband, a mother or a father, even a lover - it takes everything from them, leaving them emotionally and physically bankrupt. The feel controlled and dominated by others, and they grow resentful and bitter. They become detached from the people they love, losing all the soft positive feelings they should have for them. One can see this very clearly in the life of the Cuttlefish from which the remedy is made - Sepia gives up its life for its children, and then abandons them to look after themselves.

Just a couple of words of caution...

Mental illness is extremely difficult to treat even under optimal conditions. On a forum such as this it is almost impossible. I treat many mental health cases and there is more value in the level of support that comes from having someone local, in-person, accessible and experienced with mental disease.

If homoeopathy was side-effect free of course it would not be as much of an issue, but unfortunately homoeopathic medicines can have very powerful effects even when not curative, and for those who are already mentally unwell it can be disasterous.

Bi-polar itself is problematic for several reasons. The different stages often need different management, and in the manic stage they will tend to report improvement even where there is none, or abandon treatment all together. It has been my experience also, that bipolar patients may have a variety of other addictions or behaviors which create many obstacles to treatment or cure.

Mental health cases need a lot of support - the process that a curative medicine puts them through is not very comfortable, and in some cases can even put them in danger if there is no-one to monitor them.

Hmm.. and any particular diseases that tend to run in your family ?

The remedy is Carcinosin(indicated extremely strongly).

Take just 1 dose in 30c potency, by dissolving 1 pellet in 500 ml water, and take a teaspoon from there once.

Just out of curiousity, how did you have it cured?

You have bi-polar symptoms when you go into high attitudes? That is an intersting peculiarity that would certainly be useful in establishing the big picture (remedy picture). Any condition that reoccurs under specific conditions in not really cured. Be aware that during an aggravation any old symptom can temporarily reappear so be prepared.

Ah I am also a Sensation prescriber. Well that explains a lot for me :)

^^^^ These, coupled with the mental calmness are all good signs. Do not take any further doses without talking to me. It will be good to keep 200c at hand, and you can update me in about 10 days from now.

What made sense for me was that someone using the Sensation Method was able to cure a notoriously difficult condition. This has been my experience with the method, as well as my colleagues. We are all indebted to Dr. Sankaran and the Mumbai group of homoeopaths :)
