Surgery will interfere, no doubt, and in fact, in some cases block complete cure.
Please refrain from it as long as possible.

Removing the physical results of disease can actually make a person incurable because it suppresses the disease deeper into the person. Homoeopathy teaches us that the Vital Force creates our symptoms as a way of protecting us, and of relieving internal pressure. When we remove the outer manifestations without removing the inner disease (source) that pressure reverses and pushes more deeply into the person, creating more serious symptoms.
At some point, the Vital Force becomes so compromised by suppression that even homoeopathy cannot return them to full health. Incurable however does not mean that a person cannot still benefit from the remedies. However, the state of the patient may change dramatically, and a new remedy found. Treatment after suppression may not take them as far as it might have previously.
In a situation where a patient of mine wants to have surgery, several things need to be considered:
1. What risk is there to their health to postpone or avoid the surgery.
2. What risk is there if they have the surgery.
3. How curable is the complaint using homoeopathy.
4. How confident am I that I will be able to cure the disease.
5. Is the patient currently on a remedy that is beginning or continuing real cure.

Adding on to the previous post by brisbanehomeopath,I am afraid to tell you that, once surgery of this nature has been performed, 'full' cure is most often no longer possible, and this would almost certainly be the case for you. Remedies can be applied to attempt to remove any 'layers' which may have appeared in addition to your original constitution, but again, it is not always possible to fully accomplish this, where such 'layers' have become 'interlocked' with the original complaint whose outward manifestation has been removed through surgical removal of a body part. You will therefore find many 'classical' practitioners will not even touch your case 'constitutionally' for this reason. Either way, any attempt at such treatment takes an incredible amount of work and skill on the part of the Homoeopath, as it is important to tread extremely carefully, and this should only be attempted at the hands of an extremely skilled and competent practitioner, and most definitely not something which should be treated online. Any Homoeopath who tells you the surgery is unimportant, and simply 'steams ahead' with treatment does not fully understand the process of cure, and should be viewed with caution, as such reckless treatment will often do more harm than good.

Yes that is exactly the sort of thing we are talking about. In a way, the first lot of fibroids were protecting you from the mental disease.
When did these fibroids come up? How was their appearance related to the homoeopathic treatment of your mental condition (time-wise)?

1. Do you think it is possible that the carc could cause my body to shrink the fibroids if I stayed on it long enough? If so, how long does it usually take a remedy to shrink tumors?
[SV] Yes, indeed it can correct the fibroids as it is a very broad 'constitutional' and multi-miasmatic remedy. If it is the simillimum, it
might take as many months, as the number of years the problem has been with you as a ball park.
2. If the carc does not shrink the fibroid tumors, how long do you think it will be until it is 'safe' to have the surgery, so it doesn't cause more suppression? 3 months? 6 months? 1 year? longer?
[SV] Wait for as long as possible.
3. If I did have the surgery next month as my doctor wants me to, do you think that the hysterectomy could push me back into a bipolar state?
[SV] Anything can happen, as we cannot predict how your vital force will respond to removal of an 'outlet'. It is impossible to predict but one thing is certain, it will not be positive for your overall health.

'So, anyway....I'm looking for a rubric (or a remedy) that exemplifies 'fear of being emotionally vulnerable' or 'fear of self-expression' or something like that.'
This looks very much like Ignatia.

Please check back with me before taking any further doses.
It will not be in the same potency anyways.
If you don't mind telling me, when is your birthday ?

Fear, hurt, of being, emotionally -
Arn, carc, chin, hep, Ign, kali-c, NAT-M, ruta, spig, STAPH
As for fear of expressing themselves - it could be fitted into the above rubric (if that is the reason) or it could be many things.
Introspection
Fear of speaking in public
Sensitive to the opinions of others
and so on.
I would always ask the person 'describe the experience of expressing yourself' to see where it leads, or at least to give examples to understand it better.
