Her stools before this problem began barely had a smell, i could never tell when she pooed. But when the problem started occurring, and the stool was dark in color, and sticky, then yes it had a smell. But I dont know how to describe it.
Today there was very little smell.

I must have forgotten an important piece of information. This problem started when guests have come to stay at my house for an extended period of time.

She has quite an odd form of stranger anxiety. She gets scared when people (strangers) come over to the house. She hides behind me and refuses to go towards them.
But out of the house, she openly greets strangers and is more friendly.
She will not have a bm outside the house (since she was a few months old), nor will she do it in front of people.

She will attempt to bear down in the potty, but has a hard time doing so. She's done it just a few times. It doesn't come easily. She will do it better in her pullups, standing.

She is afraid of any leakage of pee, so will never have a wet pullup, even at night, where she wakes up from the need to pee.

She feels really thirsty at night, before falling asleep. She never drinks water during the day, i have to convince her to do so. But before bed, she must have quite a bit of water. If she wakes at night to use the washroom, she will ask to drink water then.

Ok that is very strange. And it seems very important.

There is some issue with people being in the house then.

What other kinds of fears does she have at the moment?

When you say she wont pass stool in front of people, does that include family members?

She's still very attached to me.. her favourite line is 'i want you'... she doesn't like me going away from her even to the bathroom etc.. but when I explain to her that i have to leave the house for an errand, she's perfectly fine, says bye, hugs kisses, and is happy to see me when i come back home to her. She will show happiness and excitement when i come home, and is LESS clingy when i get back to her. THe more time i spend with her, the more clingy she becomes.

Today for example, i had a feeling she had to have a bm and was really resisting. I sent everyone out of the house, and in five minutes she passed motions. The guests that have come are extended family members that she's meeting after a year or so... so she doesn't really know them.

Apart from that, she used to have bms regularly near me, her bro, and dad... without any issue. ALthough, her bro used to comment and make a big deal about it whenever she did have a bm... 'smelly, she's pooing, ... etc'. So now she herself says, i want to see the poo, it's smelly.

Fears- she doesn't like water splashed in her eyes. She's scared in the pool, will cling onto me, but if put in a shallow pool where she's walking and controlling her movements, then she's fine.

The heat of the sun affects her alot. She cannot open her eyes if its sunny. WHen she was younger she used to cry if sun rays hit her face. Now she puts her hands and covers her face if its sunny.

I've noticed when she's out in the sun, it makes her sleepy. Before the lyco, she was also quite lethargic after meals, wanting to take a nap after eating. Since the lyco, not so much, has more energy.

Out of the house, she's a different person... runs away from me.. it's me who has to chase her around, and ask her to hold my hand. At home, she's rather glued to me, regardless of whether it's just the two of us, or with people around. She likes rides, slides, etc.

She does not like hair in her face, needs everything properly combed and braided. My house has a 4 year old and a 2 year old, but you wouldn't believe it cuz the 2 year old puts everything back in its place. She's a bit of a neat freak. SHe's independent, and will take a step stool all over the house to do things that she needs to do. She changes clothes often, if her top gets a drop of water, or stain, she has to change it.

If she wants something, she asks nicely one time. If i say no, she'll ask again, 'please can i have ...'.... if i again say no and give her a reason, she'll scream it out...then start crying about it and insisting upon it.

Her dad has been a constant since her birth as well, but she refuses him in time of need. He can never comfort her, or to change her diaper, etc. She always wants me, day and night.

She was one of those babies born glued to me, since day 1. The day she was born, i had extended family staying with me, and she cried in their arms... always wanted me, just me. She was full term, born 2 days prior to her due date.

Hope all this info helps.

So she hates people being around if she wants to pass stool?

This is a keynote for Ambra grisea.

Ambr is well known for children with problems being toilet trained. The toilet is a big issue to these people.

I think it may be worth a try unless you feel the Lycopodium is continuing to really help her?

I actually did pick up ambra grisea and used it two weeks or so before trying the lyco.
It didn't seem to work, she was still crying while having a bm, and her anus was still quite tender.
But i was using ambra grisea 30...
Should i have used the 200 instead?

I find improvement under the lyco, but the med isn't sticking...Her anus isn't tender to the touch. She has less 'issues' with her bm. She's trying to hold it in, but not crying while having a bm. It's not dark, and it's not sticky. This is all after lyco. BUT- i feel i have to redose often. Kind of like what happened initially when she was first on lyco... and when we went to the 200, bam, a whole lotta aggravations happened.

The ambr didn't work? Odd. Did she have that symptom of not wanting people around during bowel movements then ?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Yes she has always had that problem... she's never had a bm outside the house, and in front of strangers.

karinamom last decade
It could be an issue with the potency yes.

I am concerned if Lyco needs to be given so often, it should be holding better.

Look, I think it is worth getting the Ambr 200 and giving it one more shot. We will do extra dilution when splitting the dose to try and moderate her reactions to remedies.

Ok will pick it up tomorrow.

ok the store has placed the order for the ambra, will go check today if they got it. On the other hand, this is the update since the last lyco 6 hit dose couple of days ago.

Her bowels have been regular, the way it used to be before this problem all started (1 year ago). Twice or thrice a day. It has taken on the color of the food she's eating... not the dark brown/black color she was having. (is that a good or bad thing i don't know...) It's not sticky, and not at all smelly, i can't tell when she's doing it. She's a bit more comfortable with people around. (by that i mean, if there are 2-3 ppl around, she's not holding it).
She's still doing it standing up, but doesn't seem to be pushing/straining at all. She's quite chatty while having the bm, so its definitely a nice change from the terror and crying she was doing last wk!

She seems to get a tummy ache prior to the bm, then goes and gets a specific toy she's learnt to associate with it, brings it out and does it.

She did something different yesterday. She woke up normally around 1am... had to go pee and went back to sleep. (that's usual)- But then about 4 am she woke up feeling really thirsty, and had tons of water around that time. Fell right back asleep.
She's been drinking water through the morning, which is unusual for her.

SHe's also woken up hoarse. There's no cough or runny nose. Just a hoarse voice.

In terms of her appetite, that actually increased immediately after the lyco, but now it's kind of tapered off. She's eating very slowly.. normally she eats in 5 minutes, kind of just gobbles up the food, and is done fairly quickly. Now, she's eating slower but quantity is usual.

She's able to hold more urine in, goes less frequently to the washroom.

Please let me know your thoughts. I have already placed the order for ambra 200, so will pick it up in either case.

Thanks so much,
k

I just looked at the title of this thread, and i didn't seem to remember her getting laryngitis... so not sure if the hoarseness is that old symptom come back?

bumping up

Sorry, what is the situation now? Have you got hold of the Ambr? Are the symptoms around the toilet the same?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
I am heading away for 5 days. I will probably be out of range for my internet connection for much of that time. I will reconnect with all my patients here as soon as I return.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
eek! 5 days, oh noooo.... kidding. Enjoy your holiday.
The store has received the ambra, but i haven't had the chance to pick it up as yet because i've had an influx of guests- tons of em, all at the same time.
Okay, so here's the bowel situation. She has realized herself that she doesn't like doing it in front of ppl, so she'll go to the room to do it. SHe will ask me to accompany her. I can still tell there is some apprehension, like she's afraid it might hurt, but she does it, and doesn't complain. She still does it standing, but is squatting more.
SHe gets a tummy ache prior to. Her belly button is sensitive doesn't like anyone touching it.
I've had a lot of guests, and i'm surprised she's doing remarkably well with them. She hasn't hid in between my legs as she normally does. She is not overly friendly, but she's not crying either.
The last couple of nights, she's slept thru.
SHe's playing more on her own.
SHe's singing a lot more.
We took her to someone's house over the wkend, and she was playing all over, without me.. which was also nice to see.
I do see a lot of improvements with the lyco... but i feel once 3-4 days pass, the effect of the med kinda wears off.
So yes, still unsure if it's palliative or curative.

David you back yet?

i hope!... I really need help here. Not sure if the overdosing of lyco has done anything, but certain symptoms have become quite prominent.

She has been having her bms, but, she is still hesitant, will complain of a tummy pain prior to, will say that it hurts, but will do it. But she's not crying. She strains for a minute (quite forcibly), does little, and quickly says she's done so she can get cleaned quickly.
It's soft in consistancy, but small.

SHe's regressed in peeing in the potty, and mostly doing it in her pullups. On occasion, she'll remember to use the potty. Prior to the lyco, she was quite afraid of the urine 'leaking' and refused to do it in the pullup.

She's expressing fear of bugs. Stating that there are bugs and monsters in her bed. She refused to go to sleep tonight. The fear of bugs has come recently, i *think* after the lyco. SHe's saying there are bugs in the bathroom, in the tub, etc, and now in her bed.

The last two nights have been horrendous. SHe's woken up at 2:30 am, and can't go back to sleep until 5... tossing and turning. She's not crying, but she's awake and having a hard time falling back asleep.
She's thirsty mostly at night prior to bed, and when she wakes up in the middle of the night, quite thirsty.
She drinks more in the night than in the day. In fact in the day, she's quite thirstless.

She's been better with strangers. And she's had more energy through the day, not tired after meals, and didn't feel sleepy in the car, when she normally can't resist a nap. She played a lot by herself. Role playing, building a house, etc.

Her sleep position has also changed. SHe has always been a side sleeper, now she's been falling asleep on her tummy, and sleeping mostly on her tummy, without a pillow. Still uncovered as normal.

If i think of anything else I will post. Hope you are back soon!!!

She's got 4 molars left to cut, i can feel it a bit hard but can't tell if they are about to cut as yet.

thanks,
k
