Dear Brisbane homeopath

Thanks for your prompt and reassuring reply.

Kindly advise if there can be a adverse reaction of the medicine and or any aggravation of symptoms is possible?

Tarantula hispanica 200c is to be obtained in liquid dilution and then use 2-4 drops in a 15-30 ml bottle of water & alcohol? Kindly clarify.

Thanks for your help once again.

Any homoeopathic medicine can, and often will, aggravate the symptoms it is given for, before they improve. This is not an adverse effect but a natural part of the healing process.

Which part of my instructions for split dosing did you not understand?

Dear Brisbane homeopath

I wanted to know what kind of aggravation and to what extent is expected so we are prepared for it without panic or fear. After all a child of only 6.5 yrs involved.

This is what I have understood about administering the medicine:

1. Get Tarantula hispanica 200c in liquid dilution.
2. Take 5:1 Water:Alcohol mixture in 30ml bottle and put 2-4 drops of medicine in this bottle.
3. After two hits, put one drop from this bottle in a 1/4 cup of water. Stir thoroughly and take 1 teaspoon as one dose.
4. Throw rest of the water in the cup.
5. Report after one week. No more dose to be taken in between.

Kindly confirm if my understanding is correct.

Thanks for all the help.

There is no way to predict what an aggravation will be like. It will be symptoms already seen in the patient, rather than new ones. Apart from that which ones might aggravate and which ones won't are unknown until the patient takes the remedy.

Aggravation is part of homoeopathic cure. There is no danger and no need to panic about it. Dosage is adjusted to minimize such effects, although the first dose tells us much about how sensitive the patient is. The better we can adjust dosage the less likely there will be a marked aggravation.

1. It can be liquid or pillules it doesnt matter as long as they are dissolved into the dosing bottle you mix up.

2. Place only 2 drops or 2 pillules into the mixture in the dosing bottle.

3. Correct

4. Throw the rest of the cup out.

5. Correct.

Aggravation, if it happens, will occur within the first 3 days of the dose. In children it is usually much quicker, often within a few hours.

Old symptoms can return on a homoeopathic treatment, and this is a particularly good sign, showing a very deep level of cure. It is important not to suppress any symptoms that aggravate or return suddenly with medication. This includes herbal, ayurvedic, or homoeopathic.

Dear CWEK & Bisbane

Thanks for your concern.

I have got the medicine but not started as yet because child is having cold, cough and fever.

So when he gets well, I will him the first dose.

Thanks again

satyanjana last decade
There is no reason to wait. The remedy is chosen for his constitutional state so it will help him regardless.

Dear Brisbane

Thanks for your concern.

Actually he was on allopathic medication for cold cough & fever and I understand that allopathy should be stopped before starting homeopathy.

Now the my grandson is ok and I have given him first dose today as per your advice.

His mother was still apprehensive of any adverse reaction to the medicine.

However keeping faith in your advice and hoping for the best we have given him the medicine.

I will report to you any developments in next few days.

Thanks again

Actually I never require medication to be stopped, unless the patient is obviously getting side effects from it. Since our remedies and the allopathy work on such different levels you can still see the improvement.

I look forward to hearing your first report, and I hope things go well.

Dear Brisbanehomeopath

It has been a week after I gave one dose of medicine to my grandson on last Monday as per your advice.

I am sorry to report that there is no visible change in him, either positive or negative.

So what next now?

Please advise.

Thanks for your help.

satyanjana last decade
Repeat the remedy. I would give him a dose straight away, and a dose the following day. Then if there is still no response we can look at other possibilities.

Dear BrisbaneHomeopath

Do you think we should make any change following method of preparing the dose?
Put 2-4 drops of medicine in5:1 Water:Alcohol mixture in 30ml bottle.
3. Put one drop from this bottle in a 1/4 cup of water. Stir thoroughly and take 1 teaspoon as one dose.

Please advise.

Thanks

Dear Brisbanehomeopath

Please see my post of yesterday and advise so that I can move further.

Thanks and awaiting your reply.

We still need to wait 4-5 days to assess - homoeopathic medicines are long-acting so you need to watch to be sure the reaction hasn't started.

If nothing by then I will represcribe. There are many remedies similar to Tarentula.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Dear Brisbanehomeopath

You advised in a earlier post to repeat the dose. I had requested you to advise if medication prescribed was too dilute to show any effect.

However now another 5 days are over I gave first dose on 19th morning and so it is 12th day after that.

Please advise what next. Should I repeat the dose now as advised earlier or you will prescribe revised remedy?

Thanks and awaiting your reply.

I am still looking over this case. The problem here is that Tarentula appears to fit the case very well so I am surprised that it has not worked. When a remedy continues to show up repeatedly for symptoms it makes it difficult to find a new one.

Dear Brisbanehomeopath
I t is not clear to me when you say 'When a remedy continues to show up repeatedly for symptoms it makes it difficult to find a new one'

Do you mean you are signing off this case?

However today (2-12-2012, Monday) I have given another dose to the child. This is after two weeks from last dose. And you said I will repeat the dose next day.

I also requested you to consider if the dose being given is too dilute?

Please advise further urgent.

Thanks a lot for tour help.

satyanjana last decade
No I was not withdrawing from the case, just advising you of a difficult that sometimes occurs in case-taking - where a specific remedy keeps showing up in different analysis attempts.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Yes dosage might be the issue, or potency. The question I need to ask myself is, am I that sure of the remedy that we can persist?

Alright lets do several things.

You have repeated the dose now so wait at least 3 days to see a reaction.

If there is none, repeat the remedy again but place the drop directly on his tongue.

In the meantime, buy Tarentula 1M. If the issue is not dosage it might be potency.

Dear Brisbanehomeopath

Thanks for your reply.

You said ' repeat the remedy again but place the drop directly on his tongue'

Do you mean I place a drop of Tarentula 200C or that of 5:1 dose prepared earlier directly on the tounge.

Please clarify.
