Throat ache recurring Page 3 of 13

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
First 3 nights:
Nite 1: Restless woke up several times, went to bathroom, was drinking water, saying that her room was dry.
Nite 2: Same as Nite 1
Nite 3: Did not sleep whole nite, had mild diarrhoea.
Nite 4: (last night) Slept extremely well at 8.30 pm - woke up at 6.30 am. Said she had mild diarrhoea in the morning.
Tonight will be the 5th night.

Details of Nite 4: Last night she slept extremely well, slept at 8.30 pm and woke up at 6.30 am. Woke up fresh and happy and went to school joyfully.
I(mother) was with her. She was initially worried that she would wake up at night. I told her not to think about the night, and told her that night is meant so that we can all rest and sleep like babies and birds sleep in nest.

In the past:
Her night time anxieties have been there since childhood. She sleeps well if she in bed next to me or my husband, but if she is in her own room - that is when its more of a challenge. My guess is that sleeping alone she does not like at all - but I'm not sure if that's the only reason. Last night she slept well- as she had not slept at all the previous night. I'm hoping that she will sleep well from now on.

In general she does not like to go to bed at night. On weekends, she likes to stay up very late till at least 11 pm. Then the lateness carries over into the week. I tell her to get to bed sooner but she does not listen. Just last night she got to bed at 8.30 as she was extremely tired from not sleeping the previous night.

ok. At her age, it'd be good if she goes to sleep before 11 pm preferably between 9-30 and 10 pm. Also it's important that she does not stay awake for long --in weekends disrupting the circadian rhythm for other days . Let her follow a settled sleep schedule for a couple of months.

Keep me posted how this goes.

Yes, will ask her to read your advice.

She said that in school, yesterday morning she had a headache. After getting home, gave her lunch again (after sandwich in school).

Evening she wanted dinner at 8 pm - so she ate a bit early to allow earlier sleep schedule.

Last night she slept at 9 pm, and woke up a few times to drink water and go to bathroom, but woke up morning saying she was quite fresh.

which part of the night or during what hours--- does she wake up frequently ?

maheeru last decade
Once asleep, she generally doesn't wake up at night, but it takes a long time to get to sleep.

To settle sleep cycle on weekends, on Sundays she sets an alarm clock to wake up at around 8:30am (on weekdays she must wake up at 6:30am to go to school). She is very disciplined about this, but it is sleeping at night which she finds difficult because she takes a long time some nights to get to sleep.

ok, we'll wait and see for some days --if sleep improves.

just keeping notes: yesterday was a holiday for her. last night - again started her nightly waking up and going to bathroom - did it through the night - and was basically up till 1.30 a.m. She had her period the day before for which she had taken 1 pill of ibuprofen for pain/cramps. Last night she didn't have pain, but was restless as usual. She now keeps worrying about her 'night' will be. So on top of a messed up night, now she has added worries during the day about the night that is yet to happen.

Give her one dose of Lyc.30c. It need not be given in the evening particularly.

Do you have 200c of Lyc.?

Her stomach settled within a few days. Now she is sleeping better and mood has improved.

Skin acne has returned on forehead. It's not too much, but it has increased. Are additional doses needed?

Thank you

Let us wait for a couple more weeks. Write down the complaints then--- in the order of priority.

Past week, lots of sadness and crying especially at night. Stress dealing with school work. Also, skin acne on forehead is increasing. She got very hungry for starchy foods the days before her menstrual period, which was on Tuesday the 6th and ended Friday the 9th.

What can be done to help this?

Get pulsatilla 30c and 200c.

Give her pulsatilla 30c --one pill--- three times on a SINGLE day (only)---doses could be 4 to 6 hours apart on that day.

Observe effects over a few weeks and then report.

maheeru last decade
Thank you - will do it.

Sorry - forgot to give her puls.

Yesterday - she had dry throat and slight fever of 99.5F.

Today morning she said still sore feeling in throat.

She said she had the same thing in summer and thinks that throat will get worse again as it had in summer.

It would also be fair to say that her sleep has improved.

She doesn't wake me up at night as often as she used to.

She sleeps at about 10.30 pm and till 5 am - she said she waked up by herself at around 5 am and then goes back to sleep till her alarm wakes her up at 6.30

She has been wearing ear plugs and is not disturbed by nightly sounds in the house there are plenty).
Thank you once again!

Ok, good. Welcome.

She has been overall quite jolly for a week after exams. This evening she said her throat feels swollen and she is having trouble swallowing.

She is in bed and said she felt cold (although she had a blanket on - so I gave her an additional blanket.) The flu is going around - hope she will be okay. What should we / she do?

Dr. Maheeru - please recommend - should I give her some medicine?
