9 year-old boy with anxiety & OCD tendancies

My 9 year-old son has been showing signs of anxiety and OCD for a couple of years and it seems to be getting worse.

We started noticing his compulsions I think in grade one. One period of time it was a compulsive cough, another time throat clearing. Than nose clearing (snorting). Now facial expressions...eye crossing. Twisting his head to one side. Stressing the muscles in his neck. It seems like if its not one thing, it's another.

His anxiety, we believe, was triggered by a tornado that happened close to home a couple years ago. It was close enough to home, and the weather strong enough that it petrified him. He's at the point now where we've had to restrict his access to the weather network so we can limit the panic. If it rains, he's terrified there might be thunder. If there's thunder and/or lighting, that's it. It's over! High stress, curled up into a ball with his head covered. I've had to go to the school to sit with him in a corner. He's even missed school because of a thunder storm. He used to be absolutely fascinated by storms. But since that day, it's gotten progressively worse.

This has lead to other anxiety. He won't go into a room by himself. He also won't plug or unplug anything from an electrical outlet (this was triggered by another incident around the time of the tornado where sparks flew from an outlet). We thought by now, he'd be over it. We've tried to talk through it but to no avail.

He's quite sensitive. If things don't go his way, he starts crying almost immediately. And the smallest things trigger this reaction.

I'm wondering if there even is a homeopathic remedy that could help calm him down? We're working on meditation and breathing techniques, as well as making some changes to his diet. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
