The ABC Homeopathy Forum

You can now add 1mages to your posts

Hi folks,

You can now add images to your posts. A few things you need to know:

* Images can be no larger than 64k.

* Please try to limit the width to 468 pixels, or the page formating will go awry.

* Images will only be accessible to forum members.

* Please use jpeg, or gif file formats. Of those, jpeg is the best for photos. Other formats will be permitted, but you may find that other people can't see them.

* If you didn't take the photo, make sure you have copyright clearance.

Any comments or suggestions on this, please let me know under this thread.

Thanks,
Simon

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Incidently, the intention with this is to help prescribe for skin complaints etc., but of course you can add images, or not, to any post.

Simon,

Wonderful news. I am sure that many members will now use this feature to send photographs of their ailment which will help to identify it.

Please accept my congratulations.

Maybe I'll post a picture of myself so people can see that I am not as mean as I they think. LOL

Hi Simon,
How do we load the picture to the Forum??
Thanks,

Pankaj

The image is loaded at the bottom of this screen that I am using right now to type this message to you.

The empty white space for browsing your hard drive is located just below the 'Email me when someone replies to this post' check box.

Ok, so it needs to be a little clearer then. I would welcome any suggestions on this.

I've just changed it slightly. There's a button, which, if you're using a Mac says ' Choose File', and if you're using a PC says 'Browse'. You click that, and, as Pat2006 says, you can use that to browse your hard drive for the image you want to upload.

Simon,

Is it possible to place a notice up near the 'POST NEW TOPIC'

that reads something like:

YOU CAN NOW UPLOAD AN IMAGE

This would make it a more permanent announcement. Otherwise, your post will eventually end up at the bottom or the next page and out of site.

Pat2006 last decade
ok thanks...seen it !!

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
sorry, meant to type:

out of sight

Pat2006 last decade
Pat...That is a good idea.

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
Pat...your idea about placing a message next to 'POST A NEW TOPIC' is excellent.

Will reply your e-mail later.

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
Yes, excellent idea, Pat. What we'll do is have a dedicated page about posting images, as there's probably going to be a bit more about the details of it and things that can go wrong.

Consider this thread a beta launch.

So please have a go, and let me know what happens if it wasn't what you expect.

For the prurposes of science, here's a picture of a cow:

Simon,

On the page dedicated to the images, you will need to make it very clear that pictures of a risqué nature are absolutely not allowed. That it is for the purpose in aiding in the recommendation of homeopathy.

Hi Susannah,

On my screen, it looks fine in that size. Anyway, if you like, you can post a smaller one and I can delete that one?

Simon,

Thanks. If you think that the size is suitable, I will leave it. I just didn't want to take up too many bytes on the forum.
