Simon,

Thanks. If you think that the size is suitable, I will leave it. I just didn't want to take up too many bytes on the forum.

bytes-wise it's smaller than my cow...

Hi,

Can somebody help me with posting pictures.

What i am doing is I am taking pictures with digital camera, putting the scan disk in Dazzle, opening the f drive and trying to send the picture.

How to resize the picture?

Anon

I'm sure there must be a better way, but working with the software that comes with Windows, you can do the following:

Right click on the image.
Select 'Open with'
Select 'Paint'

In Paint, go to Image -> Stretch / Skew.
You'll get a little diagram up. Change the Horizontal and Vertical sizes to something smaller than 100% (say, 20%, if your camera is 4 Mega pixels).
Save it.

On a mac, you can use iPhoto.

I am using the Nero photosnap viewer to edit, but after resizing it's not allowing me to save.

Simon (Moderator) :

Nesha-India, uses a Laptop Computer with Internet via a GPRS. The images uses up a lot of bandwidth and download bytes and hampers download speed too.

SUGGESTION : You could put an option in the Profile page, giving individual preferences / option of 'view images' Yes or No., wherein forum members could opt for view images or opt out for viewing images, while viewing text data.

Anyway, I reckon, there will be lots of Junk or immoral or irrelevant images being loaded by few abusers of this facility. You would be busy banning or deleting or editing them, as usual.

Hope you have anticipated this. Also hope that this gives you lots of additional headace and sleepless nights. Further hope you understand this.

Remain Healthy & Happy ....... Nesha-India

It may be a limited version which doesn't allow you to save? Try Windows Paint

Hi Nesha,

Good idea about images being selected in your profile. In the mean time, I think Internet Explorer allows you to do this anyway (no I don't know where / how)

As for abuse, we'll see what happens. If it gets out of hand, we could perhaps arrange it so that only people who have posted in the same topic can see the images?

Hi Simon,
I have already seen the results of your new facility ...with Anon loading images of her daughter's ear. It is good. Congrats!!

Yes keeping the mice away from the cheese ...will be your job ...coz some guys are going to load things for fun...maybe too much fun..which could be an abuse of the facility!!

Anyways, you got yourself a new job profile.

If you will recall, I was one of the first to have complimented you in bringing up ABC Homeopathy Forum.

Once again my compliments to you for this new effort.
Best wishes,

Hi Pankaj,

Yes, I remember those early days well, and we're all very glad to have you back here!

It's great that the image facility is being used for the purpose it was meant for, and so far, not for the purpose it was not meant for.

In terms of keeping the mice away from the cheese, it might be best not to leave the cheese on display, sending enticing aromas around the internet. From this thread, there are probably enough people know how to do it so we can all explain to people who need to upload images, without having to shout about it.

It's been going almost 24 hours now, and anon is the only person to use it earnest, so my guess is that it won't be used all that often. So, I have, once again, rearranged the page, so the image uploader is now tucked away right at the bottom of the post window. This makes it less obvious to passing vandals, but it's there if you need it - just scroll down.

Best Wishes,
Simon

Simon,

I wonder if you will consider having a special button at the top of your home page called 'Pictures' or whatever, to enable anyone to use it to submit a picture.

The idea is to prevent the thread disappearing as it will eventually do if it is not bumped up by another new post.

I remember that you started a new thread to store posts that were considered important from the angle of sharing remedies that were worthy of storage for the purpose of record. This has disappeared into the archives and can be considered lost.

I also like the new wide format that I have just discovered is reserved for the Images Page and would like to suggest that you use this same wide format generally for the other threads as well.

Also I find the space on the Forum Reply window far too small and would like to suggest that you widen the space by about an inch both horizontally and vertically

Joe.

Hello Simon

I like your idea to avoid temptation of abuse by making the box look invisible at the bottom of the screen.

Anything to avoid temptation is a great idea. Maybe e-mails to those who come here to help on a regular basis would be helpful and then eventually remove this thread all together.

Problems of plenty....Simon !!

Hi all,

Firstly, Joe, It doesn't matter if this post sinks into the abyss that is the archive - the facility to post images remains on the post screen.

My concern about making it too obvious is that we might then attract mischief.

The wide format is because Murthy's first picture has a lot of whit space around it, and that is forcing the page wider. We can't adopt it as a standard as it won't then fit on everybody's screen.

Best Wishes,
Simon

Hello Susannah

I was practicing putting a picture on here so I can put one on the Receding Gum Miracle Cure thread I started.

You can use a doggie finger toothbrush to massage your own gums to treat receding gums. It only takes two days to see the dramatic difference.
