Hi Magicure,

There was more loose, dirty-yellowish discharge coming from the nose this morning. Sooo....?

I thought of Silicea earlier, because I read it is good for chronic stages. I have thought that Hepar is for acute stages.

Waiting to hear from you.

Hi Magicure,

Apparantly you are not around, but I keep writing. Jaspers coryza has been a lot better. I don't know if it is totally gone, but hopefully it will.

Julius was sleeping really well. But now he has been restless last two nights. We have family visiting, so maybe that's the reason.

The main thing: we take off for holiday next thursday or friday (July 7th) for four weeks. I assume I don't have access to internet. So I have a couple of questions:

I will take Calcarea 200 for Julius with me. Have you got any instructions how I know when to use it?

I will take Causticum 200 for Jasper. He has clearly been better last weeks. Have you got any advise?

Maria

Hi Maria,

If Julius stops sleeping well, without any apparant cause (like cold etc...) and that continues for more than 8-10 consecutive nights, you can give him Calcarea 200, 5-6 pills on clean tongue for three consecutive nights and stop. That should help him, if not, wait for another week before repeating the dose.

The same goes for Jasper. Causticum 200, 5-6 pills, whenever he needs it, for three consecutive nights.

In four weeks, I dont think you will have to use a second dose for Julius and Jasper. If atall needed, a single dose (of three consecutive nights) should help.

I hope you have an enjoyable trip.

Take care...

Hi Magicure,

We are back at home.

Julius is worse. First: he sleeps quite well and deeply, but he is often, at midnight, fully awake during the night. (Before the sleeping problms was crying at nights, he was never really awake). I am not quite sure how long he is awake, but I estimate he is awake 20-30 minutes.

Secondly his skin on his legs is the most terrible ever! I guess it is because of swimming so much. But I have been obligated to use cortizons and antihistamis again, first time since we started treatment in November. Now I have bought specials lotions, because the skin is extremely ruff and dry, even if I have been moisturizing them all summer.
There is excema also on arms. And pimples on the stomack.

Thirdly he has stopped eating and started drinking mainly milk. He wants milk one liter during the day...no wonder he is not hungry.

I have not given him any remedy during the holiday.

I don't know if this is important, but there is one thing we have changed during this holiday: Julius can have the pacifier only when sleeping. (Before he wanted to have it in car and sometimes during the day, we also used it when he was frustrated etc).
It took only a day or two for him to accept the fact of now having the pacifier around all the time. Now he clearly "needs" it less nowadays. He even sleeps longer without it.
I will take the pacifier off - destroy them all - next week.

For Jasper I gave Causticum 200 during 3 days last week. He started misbehaving more and more. Last time, in June I gave him Causticum 200 only one single doze. It was clearly affecting three weeks.
Now he is ok.

This is our situation right now. I think Julius needs help because of the skin and the eating disorder, but do we wait first?

Hi Maria,

Sorry for the delay in responding. Till 20th Sept I will not have access to internet very often.

About Julius, if its more than a month since you gave Calcarea to him, you can repeat it now. Just 4-5 pills on clean tongue for 3 consecutive nights.

Keep me posted about his condition.

Avoid using steroid creams as far as possible. They dont 'solve' the problem, just mask it.

Take care..

Hi Magicure,

I was glad to hear from you.

The skin is better; I have been putting oil to the water every time he is being washed and I have used some lotion with 10% of urea. Now the skin is soft, but still itchy. Specially the hands.

Julius gave up his pacifiers five nights ago! I just asked him when he is going to give them to the kittens. He said "today". He put them all to an envelope and wanted to mail them himself (without an address, someone was really suprised in the post office).
First night he woke up five times and cried for two minutes every time. After that he has not cried.

I will give him Calcarea tonight.

Hi Maria,

How is Julius?
Please post about his present condition.

Hi Magicure,

We are not doing too good here.
I gave Julius Calcarea ten days ago. There has not been visual effects after that, only that he gave up drinking milk in excessive amount. He has been eating a bit better now.

Julius' excema on legs has been awful. It was distubing everyone's night. So I started a very, very expensive medicine (not stereoid, called pimeclorimus, no side effects, but little 30 gram tube costs 50 euros). Now he is not itcing that much and skin is calmer. It looks weird, because the healthy part is tanned, but the unhealthy skin is white.

I am despereate about the excema. I keep wondering shall I start vitamins or omega3 oil. My husband says I have to take him to see the doctor - for the first time of his life I thinks so! Believe the skin is bad!

I see no obvious reason why the skin is so bad. I wonder if there is something in air at the end of the summer. The skin has always been at it's worst at the end of the summer.

By the way: his allergy of raw eggs is gone! I noticed in June, I was whipping eggs and he didn't get any red spots on his face even if he was standing close by.
This week I put some raw egg on his hand and cheek - no effects. Then I gave him to taste it. Still no effects!

Nights have been awful, but I guess because of the itching. During last days there is less itching, but he wakes up a couple of times a night.
Cries sometimes, talks sometimes, nightmares.
He forgot the pacifier quicker than I thought. It took only two days. Without the pacifier he wakes up quite early in the morning.

About Jasper: I gave hime Causticum exactly one month ago. This is funny: the remedy affects ALWAYS three weeks, no matter do I give once 200 or three dozes of 200. (I have already 6 months experience).
This week Jasper has started misbehaving again (this ALWASY starts slowly): starts teasing Julius more; wants to be the best and first in everyplace and gets angry when he can't; becomes destructive when angry; is disobedient.
Do I continue with Causticum? Why does it last only 3 weeks?

Waiting for you reply!

Hi Maria,

About Julius: Lets wait for a few more days as Calcarea should have helped his eczema.

About Jasper, you can repeat Causticum. Why the effect lasts for 3 weeks? Well... that differs from individual to individual. so In case of jasper, it is about a month...

I shall check this thread in 4-5 days. Keep posting and take care...

Hi Magicure,

About Julius: his skin is calm at the moment. I have continued this very expensive lotion, but I also see, that the skin is calm from "inside" also. It doesn't "develop" new excema. (Also I myself have atopic skin, Jasper has it too, so I am a kind of specialist in interpeting the skin).

Julius wakes ups 2-3 times a night. Cries, even though the pacifier is totally forgotten. Previously I thought there will be a big change after he gives up the pacifiers - but no... It had nothing to do sleeping.
He gets up for the first time at 1 or 2 am. After 4-5 hours of sleep.

Otherwise Julius is doing good. He doesn't grave milk that much. Eats quite well. He has grown during last 2 months, both physically and emotionally: he has grown 2 cm and 1 kg, and is not as attached to me as before! More brave. And no allergy of the eggs anymore.
And his own will is developing strongly.

Jasper: we have family visiting us and Jasper is trying to behave well. So I haven't given him Causticum yet.

I was asking why the effect of Causticum lasts for three weeks, because I was thinking if it has hidden reasons like: is Causticum his constitutional remedy at all?

Originally I gave him Causticum because he has had a looooot of earwax in his left ear, ever since he was a baby. This summer the ear became full of it,again. I have never known that an ear can develop spoonfuls of wax! Causticum has not given any help for it. Fortunately I noticed that it helps his behavior.

By the way, today is Jasper's fifth birthday. Julius will be 3 years old in two weeks.

I see I am writing a novel again. Hope you have time to read this.

Hi Magicure,

Just to inform that Julius has started itching again. The skin is - so far - healthy, but he has started scrathing so much that I am sure there will be excema on legs in a couple of days.

No other changes.

Help... Julius has been sleeping worse and worse past 5-6 nights.

Last night he woke me up 15 times... I felt he was half awake all night.

Hi Magicure,

Are you around?

Julius is going worse: drinking more and more just milk, excema on legs, sleep is not that deep anymore.

I gave him Calcarea a month ago.

Waiting for your reply!

Hi Maria,

Got your mail. I am sorry for not replying earlier, but as I had said, I didnt have access to internet till 20th Sept.
Sorry once again.

About Julius: Repeat Calcarea again. Same potency and dose as earlier.
Let me know how it goes.

take care...

Hi Magicure,

I did remember you are away. So I didn't try to contact you earlier.
You don't have a reason to be sorry. I am the one who humbly appriciates your help.

I will repeat Calcarea.

Jasper is better than for a long, long tim. He is well behaving and obediant enough. But he keeps having these growing pains. (pain in legs in the evenings and nights, the place keeps changing position, up and down). It has been better after rubbing the legs.
Last night he had terrible pains. First I gave him Calcarea Phosporica 6 x three times. No help - I've tried it before but it never helps.
I had to kill him painkiller and put him to hot bath.
Is there a better remedy?

Hi Maria,

Please give me following details about Jasper:

1. Cravings ( sweets/ ice creams/ chocolates/ milk/ spicy food/ salt/ sour/ fruits...)

2. Aversions

3. Thermal state ( which season does he like, how much covering does he take, does he like to wear woolen clothes...)

4. Thirst and appetite

5. Digestive function: indigestion/ constipaion/ flatulance/ eructation etc..

6. Sleep and dreams: Does he have any scary dreams? Teeth grinding/walking/talking during sleep?

7. Fears: Dark/ thunderstorms/ animals/ solitude etc...

8. Nature:
- please describe how does he misbehave ( give examples)
- What does he do if something doesnt happen his way?
- Is he comfortable in presence of strangers?
- What does he enjoy at school ( games/ music/ studies...)
- How does he like to dress? ( bright colours/ shabby clothes/ doesnt bother...)
- What does he do when you scold him?

Add any other information regarding Jasper. (Wanted to confirm his constitution.. ) I have gone through his earlier case records, but need an update.

We can take care of his growing pains too. Phosphorus is a good remedy for that.

We can decide the further course of action depending on your reply.

Take care...

Hi Magicure,

About Jasper 5 years old. This is going to be loooong.

1. Likes sour: lemon juice, everything where is vinegar and salt. Ketchup.

2. Aversions: dislikes all fruit, expect green grapes. And all the other meat expect minced beef. Specially pork. Dislikes all kind of seeds in bread. Most of the time dislikes milk. Dislikes drinking water.
As a small boy he liked everything, so this aversions are not that old.

3. I can't decide his thermal state. He is either hot nor cold.
He defenately hates if he is cold. In the evening he want's to cover himself totally with a blanket. But after falling asleep is sweats hevily, and smells bad, specially on head.
But he also hates if it is hot. He likes the temprerature between 20-25 degrees. Doesn't like woolen sweaters.
His feet sweat easily and smell bad, even if he has sandals on.

4. Eats really good and huge amounts. If he likes the food, eats like an adult. Nothing special about thirst.

5. Digestive: stool is normal. No problems.

6. Sleeps quite well. But is afraid of dark, sleeping alone. Comes by the father or by Julius at night. But only seldom has scary dreams.
He has always been moving a lot. Sleeps in all kind of positions, it is amazing he doesn't fall down the bed.

7. Fears: dark, maybe animals (doesn't want to pet). Is not a fearful type.

8. Nature:
- Two examples about misbehaving: Today I told him he can't have dessert (because didn't eat well enough). He got angry. Took a pen, broke it and tried to hit me. Then I told he defenately is not having a dessert. Then he took cissors and started cutting photos. He calmed down after I told after next occasion I'll put him under arrest.

We once went to a cafe for ice-cream. He was showing his tongue and teasing Julius while ordering. We told not to do so once, twice, but he kept going on. Then we left the cafe. Explained him the reason of leaving and how he should behave in the restaurant.
But he got furious. Crying, hitting... But after that event he has behaved better than for a long time :-).

There is quite much this kind of revenge. Especially if he feels I am not fair, then the hell is out. He reacts strongly for injustice. Starts yelling, kicking, hitting.
I sense he takes things too seriously. For him a little thing is a big thing.
Keeps blaming other people for losing his stuff even though he is responsible.

Normally I can't threaten him at all, it has no effect. Once I canceled him eating sweets for one week, watching videos for two weeks... he just went on and didn't care.

- He is comfortable in presence of strangers. Doesn't want to look for their eyes, but is very talkative.
If he wants he can be real gentlemen in front of other people.

-At school enjoys most when they are out in the yard and they play "monster" scaring each other.
Likes to draw and color.
Doesn't like singing.
He is courious and keeps asking "why sun is hot, how far it is, what is inside...". Asks a lot of why-questions.

- I can dress him what ever I want. Doens't care. But is proud if I have bought him something new.

- One thing that I worry about him is that he moves around a lot. Next year he is supposed to start school, but he is not able to sit still. He is constantly in move. Changing positions. Arms up, arms down, arms wide, arms down...

- He has dry and itchy excema behind the knees and elbows, and dry skin. The skin has been great during summer, but in winter it dries out.

I think this was all.
I try to send you a recent picture of him.

Hi Magicure,

You still haven't answered concerning Jasper. It is not urgent.

Julius is now more urgent. I repeated Calcarea a week ago. The skin was better only one week, now it is going worse again. Itching and very dry.
Also his stool was soft only one week. Now it is getting real hard again: stool is so big and hard that he bleeds a bit afterwards.

Otherwise he eats incredibly well, doens't crave milk much, sleep is quite deep.

Hi Maria,

Does Julius feel uneasy when constipated? Or is he just comfortable?
Does he pass stools everyday?
How is his thirst? Is he drinking less water?

magicure last decade
Hi Magicure,

Julius passes stool every second or every third day. He is just comfortable two days but after that he feels uneasy. Once he didn't pass stool in four days. Then he was the most uneasy.

His thirst is like before. He has never really liked drinking water. And doesn't want to drink much of anything except milk.

This constipation started one month ago. When school started. I guess he doesn't want to go to the toilet at school and that's the bottom reason for this. It is the snowball effect: the constipation continues also during weekends.

I told you yesterday that Julius has been sleeping well. Actually the situation is this: he wakes up twice during night. But he is awake for longer time in the middle.

The skin on legs is still incredibly dry.

Hi Maria,

For the skin, you can apply non-medicated moisturizer.

Were all the complaints positively ameliorated after taking Calcarea? and have they returned after a week of stopping the medicine?

Please confirm. We might need to go a bit higher in the potency if that is the case.

Let me know...

magicure last decade
Hi Magicure,

I apply non-medicated moisturizer 2-3 times a day. They are the best moisturizers (I've tried several) money can buy in the pharmacy, but they don't soften the skin at all.

Yes, all the complaints were positively ameliorated after taking Calcarea. They returned after one week, all except one: Julius still eats very well.
I also had a feeling something is not going right at the moment.

Maria

Maria&boys last decade
one more thing: the skin has been at its best when taking Sulphur last Spring.
If I were here alone with my amateur know-how deciding what to give him, I'd give Sulphur again for the skin.

Maria

Maria&boys last decade
Hi Maria,

We shall wait for a couple of days, before raising the potency of Calcarea.

His skin will get better, it may take some time though.

It is always better when the cure takes place "inside out" that is from the deeper affected organs to the superficial ones. So, skin might get better a bit late.

Also, it is not a good idea to give Sulphur right now...

Lets wait till next week before taking any decisions.

Let me know any progress..

magicure last decade
Hi Magicure,

Here comes an update.

About Julius: he is doing better. There is excema on legs, but it is not disturbing everything. The stool is hardish, but not too hard.
He sleeps deeply waking up once during the night. Then he has a tendency of being awake for longer time 30-60 minutes. (The habit of sleep has totally changed!).

About Jasper: he has been getting worse during last couple of weeks. I have gone to conclusion that the biggest problem is the fact he takes things too seriously. Like yesterday he started crying because he couldn't hang his jacket to the hook. And he was angry at me saying it is my fault I have not attached a loop to the jacket.
He was really angry at me.

I wrote about his constitiution on 23 Sept. I want to add a couple of thoughts:
- last winter he had nosebleeding quite often. I gave Ferr phos. In summer it has been better.
- his left ear has been getting a lot of ear wax. In summer, after swimming a lot, it was totaly full of it. Now it has been ok (because of Causticum?).
- he keeps blaiming other people. He looses something he starts crying blaiming me that I have lost it (though it is his fault).

I would appriciate you'd find time to find out his constitutional remedy. Jasper is being quite aggressive at the time.
