Do you have access for any homeopath in your city?

If possible try that option.

on the net,we will miss many details.Perhaps,a physical examination of the child may be required.Could be crying due to colic also.

Hi Linda and Murthy,

Linda:
Thanks for your ideas. I'll check up the sites.
And the idea about Bach remedies is good. I have never used them, tell me if they really work!

I don't know if he has physical problems. I am not 100% sure of it, but I feel the problems are
a) his sleep is not that deep (due to temperament)
b) he needs the pacifier too much. When he comes up from deep sleep he needs the pacifier.

Maybe the best remedy would be that I'd take the pacifier off. It just feels too bad to do, because he loves it too much.

I'd like to find a remedy that either makes him to deeper sleep or replaces the need to the pacifier.

Murthy:
I do have access to homeopathy - but I speak the local language, French, quite bad. No way I can explain this all in French...
The other problem (I consider it as a problem) that these homeopaths over here give multiple remedies, ready made mixtures.

I don't know if physical examination will do any good. Colic - who knows? You can't examine it, that what the doctors have told me when he was baby. I guess the doctors call all the pain problems "colic" and all the dry skin problems "atopic". ...

Why do you think Sulphur is not the right one?
What kind of advantages you were expecting to see, if Sulphur was the right remedy?
What happenes if I give Sulphur one more time?

I have been reading a lot about Sulphur. It seems good.

Sabra was suggesting before Lachesis.
Should I go to that?

Maria,

I have just started using the Bach remedies more regularly. I started when my 2 1/2 year old was a baby with Rescue Remedy. It is not an "instant" thing with him as I have heard some parents report, but it does work in time--anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. I also use it for myself if I wake up at night and my head is racing with things and I can't get back to sleep. It helps me return to sleep. I also have been using a combination of them to help me with exhaustion and getting things done that need to be done. I am noticing subtle positive changes such as not worrying so much if something doesn't get done and enjoying my time with my children instead of worrying about what needs to be done. A friend of mine got me interested in them when she went through a period of grief. It seemed to help her within a day or two to return to a functional level.

Pantley has a bit in her book about pacifiers and bottles with infants. You may be able to adapt it for a two year old or wait for the book on toddlers to come out.

Oh and I forgot to add, that I believe that the Bach remedies can be used with homeopathics. Someone more informed than I can hopefully confirm that !

Sorry for the multiple posts, but I just re-read your post and saw the comment about deep sleep. My son didn't sleep deeply for a while. We live on a busy street and next to the fire department, so I think that was some of it. Also, I have noticed that when he gets outside and runs around he sleeps much better. With your move, have you had any changes such as less exercise or no place to get out to run around, etc?

Linda

Hi Linda,
Bach remedies sound interesting. They even might be good ones, because my little one is so attached to me. It tells about some kind of fears.

Acutally I have recently bought the rescue remedy, but never used it. I don't know when to use it. Now I know: I try it next time I yell to my kids...
How long can you use it? How often you take it?

The boy has had sleeping problems ever since he was 2 months old. I have been checking all the causalities, but have not seen any. That's why I am here now.

I want to check up the homeopathy throughly before I go for Bach remedies. Because if I find a help someplace I want to know which remedy it was that helped me.

So now I'll wake up the rest of the more-less-professionals on this site.

Maria,

My knowledge is only from my friend and the websites I've looked at, but from what I understand, the normal dosage is 4 drops. You can put it in his cup with water, juice, milk. And you can take it as needed. The ones that I take I have mixed several in a 30 ml bottle as the websites describe and take throughout the day, several times. My sense is that the homeopathics may be more specific than the Bach remedies, but I still really believe the Bach remedies help with my limited experience with them.

Hi Maria,

I was on a tour for 6 days , so couldnt reply. Sorry about that.
About your son, We saw improvement after giving Sulphur to him. Now that his complaints have returned , I would suggest giving him Sulphur 200 for three consecutive nights. This should help.

I need to tell you one more thing. You will get these ups and downs in the path of recovery. So please be patient.

Keep on informing about his sleep, appetite, need of pacifier, stools, and skin.

take care...

Magicure

Welcome back.Such a relief for Maria and for us also.

I almost wrote a post, about repeating Sulphur, but, saw that you already replied.

Now,what about liquid doses of Sulphur 200.Say,we mix about 5 pellets in about 250 ml.of water, give a sip.Shake well before giving the next sip.(To increase the potency slightly.).Fill again upto 250 ml.once the level goes down to 125 ml.No more medicine.

Daily twice, for a week. What do you say?

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
Maria

Regarding your 4 year old,you can try Antimonium crudum 30,the way I suggested above, for a week.

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
Hi Murthy,

Yes , your method can be tried. But I would suggest to give it only for three days (twice a day seems okay) We can decide further course after that ....

Maria,

The method suggested by Murthy is very effective and it slightly raises the potency everytime , so every dose is a bit stronger than the previous one.
You can start with this treatment immediately but please make it a point to post everyday.

About your 4 year old , I will go through the case and will get back to you.

take care...

Hi Murthy and Magicure,

Glad to hear you are back Magicure.

I am on my way to pharmacy to buy Sulphur 200.
But I don't have the slightest idea what you talk about shaking.

Do you mean I take 5 pills and 250 ml of water and let the pills soak?
How much he should drink in a day? How much in a week?
My boy doesn't want to drink water. In this stubborn age he surely will refuge to do it. Can you give shake it with milk?

Maria

Maria&boys last decade
No.Milk will get spoiled in no time.

If he doesn't like to drink water, give pellts itself, three consecutive nights and stop,as Magicure suggested.

Hi Murthy and Magicure,

I have given Sulphur 200x to the 2-years-old during last three nights. The sleep has not improved. All three nights he came by me around midnight. And has been waking up several times.

He has also been crying a lot during last few days. We saw that all the last 3 teeth are coming to the mounth. He keeps putting his fingers there. Maybe those disturb him a lot? Can I give chamomilla (or something else) for teething?

About the 4-year-old: I'll get antimonium crudum 30x tomorrow. I find this water soaking system confusing. Can't I just give him 3 pills twice a day - for how long?

Maria

Maria&boys last decade
Magicure is out of sation for a few days.

Try Chamomilla 30 ,morning and evening.

You can use Anti.crudum 30 pellets.No problem.Give twice a day,morning and evening for 3 days.

Keep posting.

Just a very humble suggestion.

Can you adjust your child on your own bed.... For a few months.

puneet last decade
Hi Puneet,
Well, the boy is more or less adjusted to my bed. He doesn't sleep better by me, but it helps me to sleep better.
I appriciate your concern.

Hi Murthy,

I have givent Chamomilla 30x to the 2-year-old twice a day for a few days.
Clearly the teeth don't bother him that much anymore.

But he still has been sleeping badly. I haven't noticed any positive sign after giving him Sulphur 200x three times last weekend.
He cries a few times, sleeps restless, and wakes up at 6.15 am...

I am gettting desperate again...I was hoping to see more positive signs.
Maria

Maria&boys last decade
Sometimes the effect of Sulphur is seen only after a few weeks.Pl.be patient.

You can continue with Chamomilla.Stop giving it during the day.Give it when the child wakes up in the night. But,don't exceed 2 doses per night.

Report again after two days.

Hi,

The 2-years-old has slept better.
On thursday he slept until 4 am, on fri he until 3 am, on sat he slept badly, but last night until 6 am (and that is really something!). I'm gaining back my postive attitude again...:-)

I haven't given chamomilla at all lately.

About 4-years-old: I gave Anti.Crudum 30 x during 3 days.
I can't say if there is any difference. Not yet.
We have had one problem during last five mornings: the boy gets up at 5.30 am after 8-9 hours of sleep. Is this a side effect of if he only nervous because the grandma is coming today?

By the way: what is best remedy if you have are sick: nausea, almost vomiting, terrible headache, feel hot but has not fever, pain in the stomack, cramps that make you bend over ?
No diarrea, but smell is bad. Under the blanket. Doesn't drink.
This is my husband at the moment. I just gave him Ipec 30x because that is the only remedy for nausea I have at home.

Maria

Maria&boys last decade
Yes.Ipecac should help.Give it frequently, upto 4 times in a day,and stop once he feels amelioration.

Regarding your 4 yr.old, wait for a few days more.

Glad to hear a positive report about your 2 year old.

Keep posting.

Hi Maria,

Good to hear about your 2 year old. I hope the medicine helps him. Please try to be patient. If the remedy is helping him, its action is long lasting. But please expect a few ups and downs in the path of recovery.
Write in detail about his other complaints like stools, vomitting if any, irritability, etc ( can be due to teething...) he might need acute remedy to take care of that.
Sorry about not posting frequently...I dont have access to internet for a few more days.

Take care...

Hi Magicure,
Glad to hear you are still around!

Last night was good again: my 2-years-old slept until 3 am, came to me, but slept very well until 7 am.

His stool is getting hard again. Last time the stool was a sheep-like, this time it has not (yet?) been that hard.
He has not been eating well lately and he wants to have the pacifier. I have thought these are due to teething. The gingiva is not red anymore, I guess not painful.

I haven't seen any other changes. His skin is still perfect. He is adapting to the French playgroup fine. I am so glad he is giving me up because he has always been so attached to me. But in the playgroup he seeks an other adult.

I'll keep posting after few days.

While we are using Suphur, it is best to avoid white sugar.

Just my two cents....

puneet last decade
Hi Puneet,

I need to understand this to motivate myself to do it. Why it is best to avoid white sugar?

And what does this avoiding mean in everyday life: you sure mean to avoid candy and lemonade - but do you have to avoid ice-cream, ready-mix yoghurt and pancakes, too?

Maria

Maria&boys last decade
Well, I am not a hoemopathy doctor. But when my daughter was treated with Sulphur, the doc told us that Sugar (especially white) should be avoided when a patient is being treated with Sulphur. And in the case of our child, we noticed that aggravation usually followed when she took a candy in school.

As you know Homeopathy works on the principle of "like cures like". When a patient needs a Suplhur dose, it is because his body is not reacting well to presense of sulphur (or similar) in the food.

And Sulphur is used extensively in the process of purification of white sugar. So best to avoid.

The key is in observation. Reduce his intake of Sugar and see for yourself if it results in an improvement in sleep.
