Draining Pilonidal Sinus Page 19 of 21
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If there is a persistent cause (hair lodged) cure will not come no matter whatever remedy we use. That's why I have been recommending surgery.
In the absence of that, its anyone's guess how soon will all lodged hair come out. I am assuming 2-3 weeks course of Sil 6x should do that, no matter how deep the lodging is.
The symptoms as we go along will decide that.

Ok I did look back at the forum and I was mistaken. It did take about a week to get the hair expelled. I will try and be patient. I am a worried though because the silicea did not work as we increased the strength, but maybe it was because more hair was still in there. I will try and remain hopeful. Thank you for explaining that to me. I was hoping the silicea would also dry this up.

Still no change. Very aggravated. Will go down to one dose tomorrow as I am returning to school. The eczema behind my right knee is very bad. Will the silicea clear the ezcema up eventually? I guess I am looking for signs that this is working for me.

No not at all. It had worsened a while ago. It usually gets worse when I sweat and the weather is warmer.
cg8080 last decade
Ok, continue Sil and update in a week unless something changes significantly.

Still draining and continuing the silicea 6x once a day. I have a question if you don't mind answering it please. Could the Merc Sol 200 have made my thinking cloudy or altered my mind in anyway? Also are there any repercussions I have to worry about with the Silicea? Thank you

If a remedy is repeated a lot in a short amount of time, it 'proves' itself i.e. it shows its symptoms in a healthy person. Once stopped, the symptoms go away. E.g. you take 30c or 200c 4 times a day for 3-4 days.
Keeping this in mind, I don't think that Merc-S was repeatedly taken to 'prove' it.
For Sil, you are taking it in a very low potency so its extremely unlikely that it will prove itself.

Just wanted to give an update. I am still taking the Silicea 6x, but only twice a week. I am continuing to drain. I have not noticed anything expelled, but I am still in school. I will continue to do this if you think it is prudent until school is finished in about 4 weeks. Do you think the Myristica is something that should be tried? You had instructed me to purchase it a while back. Thank you

How is the drain quantity, smell & consistency and has it changed in anyway since last 3 weeks.
Have there been any other changes that you have noticed.

No everything seems to be the same. Nothing has changed. I always increase slightly after I take the silicea, but nothing significant. Not like when I was taking it three times a day.
cg8080 last decade
It looks like nothing will come out now. You can stop it and give a break of 3 days. Then update status.
Myristica is a non-specific antiseptic. I will use it as the last resort as Hep-S & Merc-S are the two remedies fitting your case. I don't want to get a partial cure which relapses but if these two remedies don't work for any reason, we will go for Myristica.
Read about it and let me know what fits on you in its materia medica.

Ok I understand. I am going to try and wait until school finishes in four weeks before I continue. At this point I think I will have to make sure this cyst is 'cleaned out' again before I go to the next remedy. Thats why I thought Myristica because I read that it is stronger than Hep-s and silicea (like a surgeon's knife?) I am really hoping to get this under control this summer. I have 6 weeks. This year has been very difficult, living in such close quarters with this embarassment. Would taking the silica once a week help until I finish school. How long does the action of the 6x potency last? Thanks for all your help.
cg8080 last decade
There is no accurate guideline for the duration of action of a remedy. For 6x I think the action should be done within 3-4 days.
fitness last decade
So do you think a weekly dose of the silica is a good idea?
And go to the next step when I am done with school in 4 weeks?

cg8080 last decade
I think Sil has done what was needed. Give a break of one week and then take a dose of Merc-S 200 on Friday after the week is completed.

I would be happy to try the Merc-S 200 again if you really think it would work this time, but I cannot do that while I am in school. The aggravation from that was over a week long and it made my thinking very cloudy. That is why I am asking what to do until the end of school. I thought it would be a good idea to take the Silicea 6x once a week until I could comfortably move on to the next step when school is finished? What do you think?

Hi,
I am a patient too, not a homeopath but i would like to shore with you my opinion about it. I saw in youtube many cases of pilonidal sinus, all have been solved with surgery. There are too many hair inside of the cyst that has to be extracted. Go and check those videos out.

cg8080, I hope you don't mind if I pop in here to offer a suggestion or two.
You might consider reading about serrapeptase, which is a proteolytic enzyme isolated from the digestive tract of the Japanese silkworm. It has been used therapeutically to break down cysts and tumors.
If you decide to give it a try, it is best taken on an empty stomach far away from food, and possibly with an additional plant enzyme supplement. When taken with food, it works on breaking down the food, but away from food, it will work to dissolve the inflammation and possibly the cyst itself over time. You can take it half an hour to an hour before breakfast and lunch, and at bedtime. Perhaps it would even dissolve the trapped hair inside the sinus/cyst? It would certainly be worth a try.
Another suggestion would be to work on building up your beneficial gut bacterial flora to strengthen your immunity. There are so many ways to easily add good bacteria to your diet:
kombucha, kimchi, sauerkraut, kefir, yogurt, cultured buttermilk, raw apple cider vinegar in a glass of water, and supplemental probiotics. Variety is best. Eating plenty of fiber helps to support the multiplication of your friendly gut bacteria. Oatmeal for breakfast every day for a few months will really speed up the process! So easy to do!

Hi Fitness - I am finally home from school and am ready to get back to this. I have not taken the silicea 6x for the last three weeks. I am still draining. Do you think I should start the silicea three times a day? Would a stronger silicea push anything that has accumulated in there faster? Like 30c? I have to head back to school mid August so I am ready to be aggressive with this. Thank you.
cg8080 last decade
Is there any change in anything during this time (draining quantity, smell, blood, thickness etc.), mental symptoms...
fitness last decade
No nothing has changed except that I don't have the stress of school for the next six weeks. I hope you can help me get rid of this. Thank you.
cg8080 last decade
The way your case has not budged I won't be surprised if we don't make real progress. We will give it a try but I strongly feel that it requires surgery.
Sil is not required, go straight to Merc Sol 200c, one dose and report back.
My 2nd preference is Myristica 200c.
