terrible eczema in 2 year old _{Page 5 of 10}

Update on 2 year old daughter:
homeopathic: pulsatilla 6C
antibiotic: amoxicillin until Saturday.

I gave pulsatilla to her for 36 hours and this morning forgot to give to her before she went to school. so this update is from 36 hours of dosing...

- her skin went from the pictures I sent you over the weekend to almost gone. I would say she is 95% clear now. the ONLY significant place she has eczema or rash is on her hands. Everywhere else is just the leftover from the horrible rash. A bit of rough skin and a bit of flaking. nothing like what it was before. is this from the antibiotics or the homeopathic? I really don't know but the change was major.

--her nose discharge has stopped completely.

--no nosebleeds.

--no mucus at all. absolutely no cold symptoms at all. the rash around her mouth is gone.

- her lips look great, her skin looks as good. what is different is her skin doesn't just look eczema free but a bit more soothed (except for both hands which are still irritated).

- her sleep has been disrupted. She refused a nap two days ago (never happened before) and last night she woke twice, again never happens. she wasn't even upset or crying, just wanted to get up and play. strange.

- her appetite is good.

-her Bowel movements look different. they are no longer red clay looking. they are dark brown and formed. I always find tiny little white balls in her stool. I can't figure out what this is ( food, supplement).

- she is hungry a lot.

-she is not overly thirsty.

- her mood seems much better. she is still very attached to me, but not quite so moody and demanding.

- in terms of health she does not appear sick at all anymore.

- the strep rash on her hand is completely gone.

Just updating re: the antibiotics. My doctor said strep throat can become recurrent if you do not use the entire prescription. I completely agree with you and am sad we had to use antibiotics anyway bc my daughter's gut was compromised greatly bc of antibiotics at birth and she is still striving to regain homeostasis.

I pray that the wonderful support you are giving us will help her heal inside and out even given this setback with antibiotics.

I will update you in a few days as to her skin.

homeopathic: pulsatilla 6C, twice daily
antibiotic has been done for 24 hours

skin: eczema is flairing on both hands. Her left hand is covered in bumpy, inflamed, red rash. Her right hand (the one that most recently had strep) has a different appearance of red bumps on her wrist. Both hands itch and then become painful. I am concerned about what I should do to avoid repeat bacterial infections as she touches her hands often.

- only other place with eczema are two round spots behind each knee. very itchy.

- she woke up this morning in a horrible mood, crying and very demanding. Was better an hour after waking.

- her breath has an unusual smell again. it's not a 'bad' smell, but distinct.

- no nasal discharge or cough anymore.

- sleeping well and long. slept in this morning and took a longer nap then normal. awoke from nap happy.

- BM's are harder and more constipated looking. Having one BM a day.

Not sure why her hands seem to really be sensitive. five days ago her eczema was gone from both hands but it is always the first to reappear.

Yes Zady, antibiotics are over. I will give the sulphur. would you like me to update you tomorrow before dosing anything else?

homeopathic: I had 12x so gave her the remedy as you described but with 12 x.

she awoke with her hands bad if not worse. left hand completely covered and irritated/red. right hand bad on wrist.

homeopathic: sulphur 12x divided in 3 tablespoons of water given at 15 minute intervals. repeated 3 times daily.

skin: the eczema on her hands remains unchanged. Bad on her left, slight on her right where the strep was. On her left hand the eczema is bumpy and inflamed and travels to cover the two fingers she sucks on. I feel like if I prohibited her from sucking her fingers her hand would get much better. Her right hand only has eczema on the wrist. It has always looked different. more like a few distinct bumps. both itch her still.

- She took a bath today and has been scratching the backs of both knees insatiably since.

- she is in a really good mood. Happy, not nearly as clingy, laughing and talking a lot. much more adventurous and tolerant of new situations and new people. adapting better.

- she is sleeping well and long.

- she doesn't seem thirsty at all.

- very independent. does not want help doing anything.

- currently she is healthy, but I have a horrible cold and noticed today that she has had a few thick discharges from her nose.

- Even though the hands are still not great I have to look at how incredibly far we have come given the fact that 90 percent of her body was covered in October!

After one dose of calc carb and nothing else for two days...

skin: both hands are 10-20 percent worse. Left hand is completely covered in scaly, bumpy, red, and inflamed skin. itchy.

right hand is a patch of red, inflamed skin covering the entire wrist. very itchy. I am trying to keep both hands covered with gauze bc she scratches so much that I am concerned about another infection.

behind knees: behind her knees skin looks better but is still very itchy to her.

cold: she has had a stuffy nose for a few days now. Color is cloudy and thick. she is able to blow her nose and remove most of the mucus. She does not have a cough or any other cold symptoms.

mood: her mood is really good in general. She still throws tantrums when she does not get her way, but this is typical for a 2 year old. She seems happy most of the time.

sleep: She is usually a very deep sleeper. Last night she woke up at 10 pm and was wide awake. She was not upset or hurt/sick, just very alert and awake for awhile.

BM's: She is having one BM a day and it is full of constipated poop. Lots of round balls. The color has changed a lot lately. It is no longer red/clay like. Its now a darker brown but yesterday was distinctly green.

thirst: when she woke in the middle of the night she drank a lot of water. maybe more thirsty.

Is this pretty typical to have spots (on her hands) to stick around much longer then other eczema?

Zady, in addition to the update I wrote directly above, I wanted to let you know of some progress.

I took the gauze off of both of kinley's hands to let them air out, and about 6 hours later they do not look quite as inflamed or red. Still there, but calmed down for sure.

Zady do I dose anymore or hold off for now?

Zady: it's been a really rough week for kinley, could use help.

Monday: she woke with a 101.5 fever, tons of mucus, earache, sore throat, wouldn't eat/drink. went to doctor and they said it was probably viral, but swabbed her throat just in case.

Tuesday: appeared normal

Wednesday: sick again, stopped eating, drinking a TON, low grade fever of 100. complained of ear pain and headache.

Thursday: still not eating, but was acting normal otherwise. very low grade fever of 99. got a call from doctor that strep test came back positive. instead of using antibiotics again which did not work we started Chinese herbs under the direction of her Chinese medicine doctor.

Friday: fever gone. eating again. but very very moody. cried most of the day. very angry, weepy, bad naps.

Today: woke up and wouldn't eat. no fever. complained of earache. But then 20 minutes later acted normal again. An hour later she had major drainage coming from her ear--she has ear tubes so clearly this is an ear infection. She goes back and forth between normal to weepy and crying. no fever. appetite goes from normal to not eating. drinking a LOT. lots of mucus in her nose still, with blood mixed in. no cough.

skin is looking okay except for the eczema on her two hands as usual.

Are there any homeopathics that can help with the ear infection and pain?

will do. I just started the remedy a few minutes ago but wanted to note that her eczema has flaired out of nowhere on the front and back of her knees and is bothering her a lot. do you think the pulsatilla will help with this?

okay, after two days her runny and stuffy nose are completely gone. Also, her ear seems to be feeling much better.

- she is finally eating normally again

-very thirsty

- seems to feel great physically. says ear pain is gone. no fever.

- very, very demanding. she will yell and demand things go exactly her way.

-at the same time when playing with peers she is happy and fun loving. much happier.

- her eczema has improved. the red and angry patches on the front and back of knees has subsided, though is not completely gone. but it does not hurt or itch anymore.

- her hands are looking much better! the skin is no longer red and inflamed. It is still rough and dry on her left hand, and her right hand only has slight discoloring on the right wrist.

- I am not sure if I told you this, but since birth her hair is very thin, dry, and rough. in the last few months it is finally growing, but still has that dry/rough/thin appearance.

- she is sleeping well at night again--sleeping all night.

- she is having one to two BMs a day, dark brown. pretty normal looking.

- she continues to be very independent and stubborn. wants to do everything on her own---or else.

Okay, change of symptoms. About a month ago I sent you pics of kinleys limbs when she was in the midst of the strep infection. She had a scaling red like rashes on her legs that were very painful. She was I antibiotics but I know they were not helping her skin bc four days in to the antibiotics the skin was getting worse. It was when you had us do pulsatilla that it literally disappeared overnight.
Fast forward to today. This morning she looked much better. But after her nap she awoke and I noticed the scalding rashes in both knees, front and back. Now tonight she started telling me her knees hurt so bad. It's not itchy. It's painful. The rashes are just red and inflamed. No cracking or blistering. She is normal otherwise. But says they hurt a lot. Ugh.
