zady, in addition to the post above with update I wanted to let you know that she awoke today with that cough really bad. Again, she didn't cough at all overnight, but the minute she awakes the cough starts. It sounds like sawing wood. very raspy and I think dry no nasal discharge still. eating normal still etc. everything else is the same in the post above.

thanks!

Lachesis 30C

Dissolve 3 pills in 3 tablespoons water in a disposable cup, stir a few times using disposable spoon and give to her to drink. Do this ONCE only. No repeat.

Don't worry we will break the pattern of eczema.

Update after 4 to 5 days.

How is your other daughter?

Thank you so much for the support and encouragement. It means more then I could ever truly describe.

I will update on my other daughter on her thread soon! Thanks so much for asking!!!

Hello Zady,
Update for you:)

The Lachesis worked GREAT in terms of getting rid of her morning cough. It seemed to moderately help with her eczema, and by that I mean it improved slightly on her hands. but things have changed, as I will outline below.

skin now: her hands have remained pretty red and inflamed and in the last two days she is scratching incessantly and telling me her hands hurt/itch. Today was a warmer day (first day of spring!) and we were outside more and we also went to lunch and she had gluten and dairy--two things she eats minimally.

tonight after her bath we got a good look at her body and oh no. Her hands are bright red and very irritated (as usual) but now she has red inflamed patches covering her legs AND she has a bright red diaper rash covering her labia and anal/butt area. This is significant to me bc she never gets bottom rashes. The rash on her bottom does not look like eczema in that it is not raised or cracked--just bright red. She cried and cried when we put on some manuka honey salve for eczema on her skin. We have to use this on very inflamed patches to prevent infections. So she looked bad tonight.

sleep: she is sleeping great. long nights and long naps.

appetite: she is really hungry and eating a ton. Today I let her eat foods she normally doesn't (macaroni and cheese and dairy) and I'm wondering if they played a part in her flair. darn it.

mood: she is in a really, really good mood. Playing independently for long times, laughing, telling jokes, very happy.

energy: she has a lot of energy. she wants to run a lot and is very interested in different activities.

BM: for the last few days she has had very soft and extremely foul smelling stools--very acidic and rancid smelling. greenish brown. very soft for her. definitely not her normal. it will burn her bottom in a matter of minutes.

did I forget anything? thanks so much! This setback is frustrating but I'm not losing hope!!! You are the best!!!

Hi Zady,
An early update to discuss seasonal allergies...

I gave Kinley the Lachesis three days ago.

Two days ago the weather changed a bit and we spent the entire day outside. My husband has had lifelong debilitating seasonal allergies that only last for 3 weeks in spring and 3 weeks in fall. but when they hit they are intense and miserable. His allergic reaction hit two days ago, and kinley's symptoms which I am about to describe hit at the exact same time, and the exact symptoms as my husband--which is why I'm sure it's allergies.

She is in great spirits and her eczema looks better on her legs (not on her hands, still bad there) but the reaction to outdoor air has made it so that she literally has thick cloudy, yellowish snot pouring from her nose constantly. We have to have her blow her nose 20 times an hour--every other minute or so bc no amount of blowing will relieve the thick and constant stream running out her nose. Her eyes are also glassy.

Her mood is great. she definitely does not have a cold as opposed to allergies. She is happy and playing and was thrilled to be outside for the day despite her nose running.

Her appetite is also great. Eating a ton and very often. not craving anything in particular.

Her sleep is good, though having a stuffy and runny nose is quite annoying to her when she is trying to sleep.

The only time is seems that her nose at least subsided slightly is when in bed asleep. otherwise it is constantly running.

Upon rising she was coughing a lot again--stopped 30 minutes after rising.

I know her seasonal allergies play a huge role in her eczema and just overall issues, but I'm so hopeful we can tackle this and help her feel better.

I know you like to wait several days to do anything after lachesis, but is there something we can try to help her?

many many thanks Zady. You are the best!

melissafox22 last decade
How long does this kind of Allergy attack lasts? Possible to wait.

Otherwise:

arsenic alb 30C
Dissolve 2 pills in 3 tablespoons water, stir a few times and drink. Do this every 2 hours for a total of 5 times in a day (5 doses). For 1 day only.

Zady101 last decade
Zady, this usually last 3-4 weeks--through the beginning of spring. I will wait one more day and otherwise will try the arsenic alb. If my husbands allergies are any indicator I probably need to try the homeopathic. I will let you know what we decide! thanks again so much...

Help zady!
Kinleys chronic congestion has now led to a massive earache/infection. She woke up after nap complaining of pain and it has gotten progressively worse. I put her to bed for the night only to have her wake up screaming inconsolably bc of the pain. The pain is very intense and throbbing. It's in her right ear this time. No discharge from the ear yet ( this is the ear that still has an ear tube in place). I had to give her a pai killer to calm her down as she could not catch her breath from the screaming.

Her nose isn't profusely running anymore but it's still thick/Cloudy/crusty.

Her eczema is okay except as usual in her hands where it is only getting worse

She ate and drank quite normally today. In fact I would say she seemed more thirsty then normal

I've been doing ear/lymph massages and accupressure points for congestion/ear pain with no success

Please is there some way we can help her body fight off this infection without yet another round of antibiotics?

Chamomilla 30C

Dissolve 5 pills in 3 teaspoons water, stir a few times and drink. Do this every 2 hours for a total of 5 times in a day ( 5 doses ). For 1 day only.

Update tomo.

Zady101 last decade
Hi zady. Update on kinley's ear.
I started camomile the next morning (Friday). I also took her to her pediatrician to look at her ear. He said that despite having a working ear tube her ear was bulging so badly with puss behind it that this ear ( like her left ear last month ) was at risk of rupturing. He said we need to try antibiotic ear drops bc he was very concerned about rupture. We continued that day with the camomile and are doing ear drops too.

She has told me ever since we started the camomile that her ear feels better ( even after the doctor confirmed it is infected). This weekend she has both slept and ate well.

My big concern is that as spring sets in her allergic load is causing a ton of mucus which creates the ear infection issues. Her only symptom is a very runny/ congested nose and the eczema of course.

Skin: her hands are still looking bad. Just the same red, itchy, very dry, scratches all over, scabs from scratching.

Mood: really good. Happy. Content.

Sleep. Very good

Constipated

Thirsty.

Thanks so much!

Hi Zady,

Update:
currently not taking any homeopathics.

- she had a rough week last week. We went to an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist and both of her ears were fluid filled and bulging eardrums. She failed a hearing test. She is scheduled to get ear tubes back in surgically in two weeks. However incidentally, we had to visit her pediatrician 3 days later and her ears looked much better. Still fluid, but better.

- last week kinley also got a virus that caused diarrhea and vomiting. She is still experiencing diarrhea, though not as bad as it was before. Currently her BM's are very foul smelling and runny/yellow. I have to be sure and change her diaper very quickly as it burns her bottom. She doesn't have much of an appetite.

- Skin: her hands are terrible. This weekend they were so inflamed they were almost purple. Left hand is worse as usual. she has open wounds again from scratching so much, and the eczema is scaly and raised. the skin on her hands are also peeling.

- Her mood and energy has been very poor the last few weeks because of the illnesses and more. She is very quiet, doesn't want to play at all, just wants to sit in the house and watch TV. no energy. She is very quick to anger and cry. Major fits with big tears and melt downs. When I ask her what is wrong she says she doesn't feel good.

- appetite is very poor. maybe one or two bites per meal.

-thirst: drinking well.

- sleep: she is sleeping well despite everything. She has woken in pain and illness this week, but goes right back to sleep.

- color: she is pale with circles under her eyes.

- allergies: it has been raining for days so kinley has not had any congestion or runny nose.

thanks so much!!!! despite all of her illness I'm still most concerned about her skin bc of the risk of infection from the constant scratching. thanks for all of your support and help Zady.

melissafox22 last decade
Ok, please answer: what's your expectation from my next prescription. This will help me in prioritizing.

Zady101 last decade
Hi Zady,
sorry for the late response. A lot has changed in the last several days so I will update as of now.

update: Kinley got ear tubes again on Monday. One ear was so massively infected. She immediately after the procedure starting eating again, and is in so much better of a mood. She is sleeping great, is fun and silly and very happy.

skin: her hands and one ankle are terrible right now with eczema. she has big open cuts on both hands bc she just can't stop scratching. Her skin got markedly worse over the weekend when she was outside in the new spring air. At that point her eczema was flaring on both legs, arms etc. Since being inside the last few days it has calmed down everywhere except her hands, which are still burnt-red and open wounds. Also, her skin on her hands is also peeling. the only way to stop her scratching is to heavily bandage both hands.

mood: since the ears are feeling better she is a great mood. very happy.

appetite: again, since the ear tubes, she went from eating nothing to eating a lot all day long.

BMs: no more diarrhea. She has had normal BMs for four days now.

sleep: sleeping long and well now that her ears feel better.

I feel like the priority still needs to be on her skin bc spring is when it has typically gotten worse and we are seeing that happen again.

thank you so much Zady!!!! thank you thank you thank you!

Calc carb 6C

Dissolve 2 pills in 3 tablespoons water, stir with a spoon a few times and drink. Please do this Twice a day for 2 days and update me.

1 tablespoon = approx 2 teaspoons

Zady101 last decade
Hi zady
Update. Two days if calc carb as prescribed

Skin: her hands are still really nasty looking. Half the problem is the cuts and wounds on her hands from scratching. I feel like if her cuts weren't there that she may be slightly improving but it's hard to tell. She doesn't seem to be quite as itchy.

She has been outside today in the first really nice weekend of spring and I noticed the eczema flaring on both legs. She is itching more on her legs

Eczema still looks red, raised, blotchy, and I hands is peeling.

Mood: improved greatly with ears feeling better. She is very happy and energetic.

Sleep: she is taking up to an hour to fall asleep for both nap and night sleep. She is talking, singing, etc. Waking early from both naps and night sleep as well.

BM's: she is having normal and regular stool. Dark brown in color.

Thirst: she seems very thirsty and is having big, wet diapers.

Is there any other info I can provide that would be helpful? Thanks!!!!

How is her digestion?

What is the color of her tongue?

Any effects of bathing on her?

Describe her mood again.

Is she sweating while sleeping? If yes, then where?

Are the cuts oozing any liquid? If yes, giv details

Hi,

What's the status?

Zady101 9 years ago
Hi Zady! I'm so glad you posted. Definitely need guidance. Update:

- I held off on posting after the last post two+ weeks ago because her skin slowly but surely was really clearing up. Her left hand and right ankle continued to be the problem, but I was trying to be patient.

- We went on a family vacation to Florida a week ago. There is no pollen or many of the air allergens there. We were by the ocean. Kinley's skin completely cleared. Not a single red spot or blemish anywhere. Her left hand remained dry, but a completely normal color.

- yesterday we returned home to our town that is in full bloom. Pollen is thick and green on any surface outside. within five minutes of stepping out of our car and playing on a swing in our yard Kinley walked up to me with huge red hives on both hands that itched like crazy. Since yesterday she is now in a huge flair much worse then normal: red, patchy, and a lot of hives on hands, wrists, knees, ankles, and rough scaly skin covering arms and legs. She is clearly having a severe reaction to outdoor elements.

- sleep: she is sleeping well still. She has had a cold for several days but is almost over it.

- bathing always aggravates her skin. Her eczema gets really red and she starts itching like crazy.

- mood: her mood is great. She is very happy, silly, playful, energetic. But is sleeping a lot too. 3 hours naps and 11 hours at night.

-appetite: she just doesn't seem to want to eat a meal--opting instead for small snacks ( not healthy snacks) all day. she wants carbs and sugar.

- her BM's have been irregular since traveling, however she is having at least one BM a day. slightly constipated. reddish/brown stool.

- as mentioned above, when outside touching pollen a new symptom that was not present last year are the raised white welt/hives that cover her hands and wrists.

- is there any more information I can provide that would be helpful? I will respond in a timely manner this time.!

thanks so much Zady!!!

Hi,

Can you please answer the below questions (excuse me for some repetition):

How is her thirst?

What's her sleeping posture - on back, on right side, on left side, on stomach?

Who else had had eczema in the family?

How is her ENT (ear, nose, throat) issues? Please give details.

Zady101 9 years ago
Great questions!

Kinley doesn't seem overly thirsty at the moment but when she does drink she will drink up to 8 ounces at once which is a lot for her.

She always tends to sleep on her left side which I suspect is why her left ear is usually the one that bothers her most.

Her dad has eczema and seasonal allergies that he has had since birth. He has had times where his eczema is every bit as bad as kinleys. To this day during spring and early fall he gets patches of eczema behind knees, on ankles, top of feet. Terrible congestion as well.

ENT: I forget if I told you that after her ear tube surgery one ear was so infected she bled from the ear and clogged her ear tube. Bc of the clogged tube I had been especially concerned about this last cold that is still holding on in terms if nasal congestion. I believe its a cold and the pollen. Se told me this morning her right ear hurt. But it's not bothering her too much bc she is very energetic, playful and happy. Plus the right ear was NOT the one that has a clogged tube so any fluid will flow out.

Thanks for being so helpful and thor
