So he slept much better last night, no screaming, and less wakeups. Was easier to fall asleep and settle back down when he woke. He still has lots of nasal congestion, the secretions have gotten thicker and greenish. Still phlegmy cough. His legs where the eczema is the worst feel slightly warm to the touch, which seems new. Last night he felt a little hot like he may have had a fever. I think that's kind of a good thing though since he had no fever with this illness. Maybe his body is starting to fight it better.

One thing though that has been worrying me just a little is that he seems to have a lot of difficulty passing stool. His face gets all red and he grunts and all that and then just gets a tiny bit out at a time. This is since he started eating solids foods. He seems very interested in them but perhaps I need to just do breastmilk for now? I've been trying to do the high-fiber baby foods, and he only eats about 4oz a day of them, but still having that problem. I hope I'm not just being a worrywart.

Yes he has started reacting and body is trying to fight.
Wait for a day and see if the nasal congestion and cough reduces.
Also no need to worry about the stools as his body will take sometime to get adjusted to the solid food.

Update me tomorrow.

So it seems like the congestion is getting worse over the last couple of days. It is worst at night. He's still fairly happy during the day, but at night has a harder time falling asleep, and then last night was waking up screaming a couple of times again. He settled again but seems to be grunting when he breathes out, while sleeping in the early part of the evening. It seems to either be better later in the night or I'm not hearing it because I'm asleep. He will grunt for a half a minute during the breathing out, and then cough, be clear for about 10 seconds and then start grunting again, his chest looking like he has to push the air out. He sounds a bit wheezy in his lungs, even during the day. He still has a lot of nasal secretions, which are yellowish-greenish.

Also his eczema is flaring up, around his face especially.

How is he feeling now?

Give him one more dose of Pulsatilla 30C.

Thank you! He is about the same. We took him to the doc who says his throat is a bit red and ear drums are a bit red. I have been giving him a homemade cough syrup with chamomile tea, cinnamon, a tiny bit of clove, and ginger to break up the phlegm. It does seem to help tame the cough. He is asleep for the night now, but I will try to get a dose of Pulsatilla into him.

He sounds like he's doing better today. Not so phlegmy on the cough. The eczema is starting to heal. The way the skin looks right now around his cheeks, where the drool hits and makes a rash, looks like it's healing from a burn, like a slight chemical burn. I'm wondering if his saliva is too acidic.
He is crying just a little at strangers today, I'm thinking that's probably an aggravation since he had been doing well in that for some time now. Overall I'd say he is in good spirits.

Something else, I'm noticing his arms and legs are flaring up with the eczema just since being out in the sun today. I did think once before that I noticed his skin felt warm to the touch over the eczema areas on the legs after exposing them to the sun.
I was thinking about the face rash, and wondering if it was possibly a Candida rash? It kind of has a bit if that look, and a few months ago he was having stools that smelled like yeast.

Yes, this morning.

It definitely seems like his eczema got worse after being in the sun today. This morning it looked like it was getting better, but now at end of day it looks worse than I've yet seen it. I have been taking pictures if that helps.

Please send me the pictures..

Have you noticed any improvement in his general condition?

homeodr 8 years ago
OK, I sent you pictures. Hope you don't mind a lot of them.
He is a bit more fussy lately. Not quite as phlegmy, but still the occasional wet cough. He has some dry, sticky green nasal secretions. Yesterday I thought I could feel a tooth trying to come up but I don't feel it today. He did sleep pretty well yesterday and the day before.

Also, he is still passing only small amounts of stool with difficulty, and today has been crying while pushing. He woke up early today because of needing to poop and it just seems it's either hurting or frustrating him.

I received all the pics.
Eczema seems to be bit better in recent pics.

Was he comfortable while passing stool today?

I guess he is not much phlegmy now. Is there any cough or nasal secretions?

Also describe his current behavior with you, other family members and with outsiders.

Yes, the eczema is improving again.
He still works hard to pass just a little stool, and I'm withholding solid foods yesterday and today trying to help get things moving. He doesn't seem to be fussing/crying about it as much as yesterday.
The cough is much better, but he still has an occasional wet cough. This morning I was hearing a little wheezing that I'm not noticing now. My other son (middle one) is still coughing some too, so I know it's just this bug. Baby's nasal secretions are still yellowish-green but only very occasionally do I need to suction him. I guess overall he is improving.
As for how he acts, he smiles a lot at my husband and his brothers. Sometimes he will cry if we make too loud or aggressive of noises (like growling for example).
On Saturday, the afternoon after I had given him a dose of his remedy, he cried a little on seeing our friends who came for a visit. He didn't cry on seeing their kids.
He seems a little less fussy today. Still sleeping well with only 2 wakeups usually. I think I can feel that tooth bud again.

I believe that he is fussy becoz of dentition..
Since he is improving in terms of eczema, we should wait for a while before going ahead with another dose.

OK, sounds like a plan.

He seems really backed up as far as stool goes. He's really working at it, but not getting hardly anything out. I made some watermelon puree to try to help, just waiting to see if it will. Have held off on solid foods for a day and a half now. I'm worried about him being impacted. He's not constipated, his stool is relatively soft, but firm, he just can't seem to push it out. It's definitely not like little rocks or anything.

I'm taking him in to the doctor today. He's just screaming every time he tries to pass stool.

If you have Alumina 30C handy, give him one dose (add 1-2 drops or 2 pills in 1 teaspoon of water and give 2-3 drops of it .

I don't zthave that one, unfortunately. We do t have any money right now so I can't buy it. He's covered by state insurance so at least I can take him in.
