Hi there, wondering how I can help my little guy.
He started up yesterday evening with a stuffed nose. During the night it turned to lots of congestion with a runny nose (yellowish green snot), and I could hear him swallowing mucous. I tried giving him repeated doses of Pulsatilla 30c during the night. I diluted a couple pillules in a cup of water and just gave 1/4 tsp at a time of that every few hours when he would wake coughing and crying.
During the night, he woke and vomited mucous all over.
This morning he had copious, profuse nasal discharge of thick yellowish green, with his eyes watering and some diarrhea. The nasal discharge has lightened somewhat to a clearish yellow, and he has been coughing occasionally, pulling at his right ear, and his eyes have some mucous coming out of them along with the tears. The right eye started before the left. He has a small, round reddened area on each cheek. The diarrhea made his bottom red.
Did I give too much Pulsatilla?

Don't give any more doses.. Just wait and let the symptoms settle.. Yes most likely thus happened due to too frequent doses..
It is good sign that he vomited out all the mucus.. Other symptoms should settle down soon.
Update me by tomorrow again..

Last night his cough turned croupy and hoarse. I have some moistening herbs like slippery elm and marshmallow that I gave him that seemed to help just a little, but we will likely have to take him to the doctor. Anything I can give him to try to avoid that? His eyes are some better, not so teary and goopy, but he still has the nasal discharge, hawking up gunk and swallowing it, and now the cough that is sometimes dry and hoarse and other times wet-sounding. Last night he had dried sweat on him that smelled very salty or like brine. He's been getting low fevers during the night.

Do you have biochemic cell salts handy like ferrum phos, kali mur or kali sulph?
You can give Kali Mur 6x and ferrum phos 6x 1 tablet dissolve in water twice a day.
If you don't have any of these you will need to antidote the pulsatilla effect by giving him either Pulsatilla 6c single dose or Nux vomica 30C single dose.

Ok thank you for that. What about antidoting with menthol? I have some Vapor-Rub type stuff I could use.
I don't have the remedies you mentioned, and I only have Pulsatilla in 30c and 200c, and Nux in 200c only. I'd hate to use the wrong potency and make it worse.

Ok..in that case you can use menthol...

So despite using menthol, and having him inhale the smell of coffee, he still has copious green nasal discharge in the mornings, a phlegmy cough (he swallows what he coughs up but the little that did come out seemed yellowish), and pulling on his ears. He seems in good enough spirits, eating and drinking ok and sleeping no worse than usual.
The nasal discharge dries up at night, then comes out thick and green in the morning, and lightens up to clear during the day. I wonder if he maybe has some old infection in his sinuses that is not clearing?
When he passes gas, it is very stinky. Same for his stool.
We went to the doc and I got an Rx for antibiotics, but I haven't started it yet. Is there anything that might help him turn the corner on this illness without having to resort to drugs?

It might be old sinus infection but its difficult to say for sure..
Do u have kali sulp 30c or 200c potency? If u hv give one dose of it..
Also try to keep him little warmer.. Colder climate might aggravate the problem..
If he is comfortable doing his routine things like eating, playing ,etc then not to worry much..

I don't have any Kali sulph, but I think we'll just let it be for now.
Once he's well, can we try to address his propensity to head and chest colds?

For some reason it seems my reply to this post had not been posted.. very strange..
Anyways, we can surely try to address his disposition towards cold..
I hope he is feeling fine now.

Hi there. I was wondering if I could get some help with the baby again.
His disposition is mainly the problem right now. He is horrible. He is very, very willful and stubborn and is only happy if he gets his way every time. When he doesn't get his way, he screams and cries and throws himself on the floor. Discipline doesn't really do anything for him.
Right now I'm trying to wean him just during the night, and he is resisting so hard, he is shorting himself on hours of sleep. Last night he cried and tried to get out of bed for hours. We kept putting him back in and putting him back in. It didn't do any good. He didn't go to sleep until 11pm and by then I was so tired I just gave in and nursed him all night. He wakes probably 5-8 times a night. He's also teething, has been for months, seems all his teeth are coming in at once. He has terrible attitudes whether he's teething or not though. So the teething doesn't really make much difference. He just gets a little worse when teething, just more of the same bad attitudes and poor sleeping. He has always been a difficult child, and just seems to get worse and worse. He started out life very calm and sleeping well as a newborn, but has gone steadily downhill from there.
He's very attached to nursing and to me and throws fits when I don't want to nurse him all day long or night. If he had his way, he would probably nurse every hour or two all day and night. It's like he's addicted to it.
Also one small thing, our whole family had a recent illness, and since then he has been putting his hand to his throat and making a gagging sound, occasionally.
It concerns me a little.

Is he stubborn only towards you or towards his father as well?
