Hi Sameer. All is pretty good on the sleep front. He has even readjusted his body clock and is sleeping 12 hours again overnight, for about the last 5 nights, which is great.

One thing we have noticed though, which is a concern, is that he has a night cough. I think it's been going on for about a week. There is no sign of a cough during the day, but overnight he seems to have one or two periods of a lot of coughing. It might last for 30 minutes or so. He doesn't usually wake up from it. It's kind of a froggy, wet sounding cough, similar to every cough he's ever had.

I have no idea what's causing it.

Hi again, just a quick update to say that the cough appears to be gradually getting worse. He coughed more last night than on the previous nights, and it bothered him enough to wake him up a few times. He was also coughing this morning after he woke.

Give a dose of Silica LM2 then.

Take out 2 drops of LM1 in 250 ml spring water, stir with spoon, and give a teaspoon ONCE.

Thanks for your reply Sameer.

Can I just clarify - we are moving on to LM2? (first you said LM2, but then you said LM1 in your post).

Can I ask how you can tell that it's time to move from LM1 to LM2? Just curious about the signs or pointers...

lm2

Ok. I'm just trying to understand this... so even though his mental state is good, and has not altered, there is cause enough to move to a stronger potency?

Hi again Sameer. I am feeling a bit worried about progressing to higher potency without discussing this a bit further with you. We seemed to making such good progress with LM1, and haven't needed to give a dose since early December.

Could this just be an acute that needs treating in the middle of something else? Or would another LM1 dose not work? The reason I ask is that his mental state is pretty good. There has been no deterioration of anything other than his sleep in the last couple of days - which is entirely due to this cough. Before that developed, he was eating and sleeping well, and generally very agreeable.

Now that the cough has developed, the only change is that his sleeping has deteriorated. His cheeks are a little red and splotchy right in the middle and he is pulling his ears - could be from the cough, or it could be those molars on the way. Everything else is as before.

The one other thing I wanted to note is that this cough worsened at the same time as the weather got quite cold. We had been having a heatwave, and the temperatures suddenly plummeted to unseasonably cool. They are rising back to normal summer ranges again today, so not sure if it will make any difference or not. The cough had developed prior to this cool change, but it definitely worsened obviously when it got cold. Could be significant?

Really keen to hear your thoughts. I am just concerned about pre-empting anything when things have generally been going so well lately.

Sameer, I hope I haven't offended you. I was hoping to understand the situation further.

Hi littlefinn,

Go ahead with the LM2 dose. It is time for the next potency. LM1 is not to be repeated after such a long interval.

sameervermani last decade
Ok, cool, will do it tomorrow. Thank you very much.

Hi Sameer. It's been five days since the first dose of LM2. For the first couples of days there was very little difference, but then we had an exascerbation of his cough during the day, and then an improvement, all very quickly. Since then, his sleeping has improved again. He still has a cough, but it is mostly during the day, and mostly in the mornings.

The night before last, we had thunderstorms and he woke screaming at about 10pm, very upset, pulling his ears and wanting comfort - not something we have seen much of in recent months. Then yesterday, he was reported as 'on edge' all day at daycare. He was certainly not his usual self in the evening - he was volatile and more sensitive than usual. I also noticed a lot of sneezing and a runny nose. He was a little disturbed during the night last night, but nothing major, and everything seems normal today.

He is eating as usual and everything else seems normal.

Okay, lets wait and watch for a few days.

Hi Sameer. It's been another week. Things are pretty good. His cough has pretty much gone and he's sleeping better, although waking very early again. His mood is good, and there isn't anything else of note to report!

littlefinn last decade
Good stuff, he is doing well.

sameervermani last decade
Hi again Sameer. No sooner had I posted then he started to deteriorate again! He had a couple of days of being more irritable and sensitive than usual, and picky with his food. Waking up multiple times during the night. Yesterday afternoon and last night in the middle of the night he had some really foul bowel movements. I was worried he might be getting sick, but he seemed fine again today and in good spirits. Not really sure what's going on, could it be a secondary action after this long?

littlefinn last decade
Oh, and also, this last few days he has been pulled at his ears a LOT, still today too.

It was just the vital force cleansing his body of toxins. If you go to the first page of this thread, and compare that to the state he is in now, there is a world of difference. His vitality has improved so much that I can't even remember him having a full fledged infection. Minor niggles will be come and go but he throws them off well now, which is what should happen in a healthy child.

That being said, I think we should continue treating, and it is time for another dose.

Give 8 hard hits to the Helios LM2 bottle on the palm of your hand.

Then wait for 2 minutes.

Take out 2 drops of LM2 in 250 ml spring water, stir with spoon, and give a teaspoon ONCE.

Report after 5 days.

sameervermani last decade
Oh yes, I remember! It is amazing how much has changed! Thanks to you. :)

I find it interesting that whenever something comes, it always affects his sleep first. It is the first sign for us that something is wrong. Last night he woke every two hours all night - very exhausting. But his spirits appear quite good. I agree we should continue treating, especially now while there are less viruses around - as soon as winter begins to approach things will become more vulnerable.

I will give him the LM2 today. Do you think we should be purchasing more LMs in higher numbers in the meantime?

littlefinn last decade
Not a bad idea to have LM3 and LM4 ordered . 30 ml bottles.

sameervermani last decade
Hi Sameer, it's been a week since the LM2 dose.

He had a few very foul bowel movements in the first couple of days, but his sleep improved very quickly. He had a very busy week and was out of his normal routine, so his moods were hard to assess, but I think on the whole, he has responded quite well. We have noticed a fluctuating level of sensitivity and fear, which is probably as a result of the LM2 working it's magic. His bowel movements and eating has been normal (actually, his appetite has increased during the week). His sleeping has been a little more disturbed again for the past two nights, so I will keep an eye on him and report again in a couple of days?

littlefinn last decade
Hi Sameer. It's been another 5 days. His sleeping improved a lot for a few nights after I posted, and now he is becoming disturbed again. I can see another molar coming through the gums now, so that is probably part of it. He seems extra sensitive and needs more physical affection than usual. But bowel movements are frequent and normal and he is eating very well.

littlefinn last decade
I think this will pass in a couple of days.

sameervermani last decade
Hi Sameer. Another update from us.

Things did improve, and stayed stable for a while, but are deteriorating again now.

I'm not sure what is wrong, but his sleep has been disturbed again over the last week, he is often pulling at his ears again (for the last couple of weeks) and he has had a bit of thick greenish mucus in his nose. His mood has been reasonable, but he is a bit more clingy than usual, and is displaying that behaviour we haven't seen for a while - where he is very upset when he wakes from his afternoon nap. His bowel movements are very hard and dry, in small balls, but it has been this way for a few months. For the last 24 hours approximately his appetite has diminished, and he is not drinking a lot of water either.

I have completely forgotten to purchase the next two potencies of silicea LM. Should I still do that, or do you want to explore this further. Our last dose of LM2 was a month ago.

littlefinn last decade
You can give a LM2 dose with 8 sucussions to the LM2 bottle before dose.

Amount same as last time

Report in 5 days.

sameervermani last decade
Ok Sameer. We did 8 succussions last time, is it ok to do the same?

littlefinn last decade
Yes, I mean 8 fresh sucussions.
